A few highlights from the weekend!
Thursday
- My mom surprising us with homemade Valentines and a box of vegan sugar cookies! What a great surprise. And most of the cookies were a hilarious cat butt shape (from a cutter that Will 3D printed!). I also found Pusheen shaped cookies in there the next day! I loved that she made custom shapes that I like. And wow, this recipe is SO good. I need to get it from her (although I’d rather she make them for me, ha!).
Friday
- Making a reel after work. It was nice to have a bit of daylight after work.
- Getting the house tidied up for Rachel’s visit. I mean, because I do that daily anyway…
- Lying in bed with the cats after cleaning.
- A yummy dinner. We made our version of hamburger helper, which was vegan mac n cheese with Beyond Burger in it.
Saturday
- Spending the day with Rachel! I always have such a great time with Rachel. We don’t see each other often, so we have a lot to talk about, and I always feel like she is really listening to me and interested in what I am saying. She makes me feel so loved. Aww! We mostly hung out at our place – she met Ned, we had breakfast sandwiches with Steven, exchanged holiday gifts, chatted a lot, toured Dragonstone, had lunch at El Famous, and toured the warehouse. She brought some of those squeeze tube cat treats and the cats LOVED them once they figured out how to lick them (Ned never did, ha)! And Starbuck kept loving on her.
- Getting a long walk in on the treadmill.
- Aldi having the vegan mozzarella and cheddar sticks.
- Receiving a rock gift and cards in the mail.
- Sketching out something funny for the next #FelineTheLoveChallenge Prompt.
- A friend telling me she’s saved all the cards I sent her. Aww.
Sunday
- Going back to bed from 8:30 – 9:40.
- A yummy breakfast.
- Getting my run in. I cut it short due to wind and ice, but I still did it!
- Playing with Ned.
- Trying out Resin. I received two types of resin for my July birthday and am just now trying them! Ha. I was scared… that I would really mess my art up. But one of them, Mr Resin, doesn’t require any mixing and cures really fast under a UV light. I resined 6 rocks and a few of them turned out good! On the first one, I didn’t use the heat gun to get the bubbles out. Now I know I need to do that with every one. I also put too much resin on the back and it dripped a bit to the front. I think I can sand it off, but meh. I will likely only resin my rocks with painted backgrounds. I don’t like the way it looks on the natural stone.
- Yummy loaded fries.
- All the throwbacks in the Halftime Show.
Lowlights
- Not sleeping well. And no naps.
What a lovely weekend! I love that you have a friend like Rachel. They are the best. 🙂
How sweet that your mom made you Pusheen and cat butt cookies!
They are! I feel so fulfilled when I see her.
OMG THEY WERE SO GOOD. This recipe is amazing!!!! I hadn’t had a good vegan sugar cookie until she found this one!
