Notes:

  • On Tuesday it was warm enough to wear a vest instead of a coat and I was so excited! I was also running close to sunset and stopped a few times to take my phone out of my pocket to take photos. Well, one of the times I did that, I dropped the bag that had my key, ID, and credit card in it. I realized it halfway through my run and turned around to take the same route back. I felt a bit panicked – more that someone would have moved them (with good intentions) and they would not be in one of the spots I stopped to take a photo. But luckily, they were in the first spot, phew. I will not put that bag in a pocket that does not zipper in the future!
  • On Saturday I remembered a tunnel connecting two preserves recently opened so I went there to run. I figured the trails would be clear because they were at the preserve by our house and at the entrance they weren’t and I thought I made a huge mistake, but they did clear up, phew! I planned to run 5 miles and had my route figured out then runner brain had me questioning my route so I ended up with 6.3 which is great! My one goal for the year is to get back to comfortable double digit runs, and I am on my way there!
  • Gah, the wind was fierce on that run. It makes a difference year-round, but especially in the winter.
