- I didn’t come out and say this in either of the recaps of our trip to Colorado but we had such a nice time and it was so great to get away! We both needed a break like that. It’s rare I take a whole week off from work and I’m so glad I could. We’re looking forward to more road trips in the future.
- I’ve watched the first two episodes of And Just Like That… and wow, it’s really bad. Too many COVID references, too much old people talk, trying too hard to be relevant… will I keep watching it? Yes. Ha.
- The cats started their Christmas Countdown Calendar this week! Purr (ha) usual, it’s more fun for us than them! I also ordered them a special Pusheen box for the holidays. They’re so spoiled!
Apollo would not look at the camera because Ned was in the doorway
- Right now we’re scheduled to go back into the office on January 31st. We still have to go into the office two days a pay period, we just have a bit more flexibility on which days. I wonder if the January 31st date will happen.
- We had (and are having still) a big windstorm last night and we have 2-3 trees down (I say 2-3 because we cannot remember if one of them was already down or not, ha). One in the pond, one blocking the driveway, and one behind the wood pile, womp womp. This weather is bonkers. It was 64Β°F when I ran last night.
- I know I’m preaching to the choir here, but aren’t online friends the best? I am so glad I met up with my rock painting friend Valerie last week. We’ve been having a lot of fun texting since then, and she was an absolute sweetie and mailed me some vegan baked treats from a German bakery in Colorado! She and I are planning a rock painting get together in April and I can’t wait to see her again (and meet new friends!). It’s pretty funny (or just telling?) that all of my close adult friends that I spend significant time with except one are people I met online (makes sense – you bond online over shared interests! Remember when blogging was a thing and we did that here?! Ha.)
I never watched SATC but I did look up spoilers for the new show since everyone was talking about it, ha. I’ve heard it’s not that good, too.
Online friends ARE the best friends! I’ve actually been connecting with a lot of people through my blog lately, and that’s been really fun. There IS still a blogging community out here, and that feels really comforting to know. <3
It’s really bad and trying WAY WAY too hard. Am I still watching it? Yes.
Ahh yay! I am so glad your blog is still doing that for you!!!! I wonder if I need to expand my niche a bit… it seems all the running bloggers have jumped ship, but maybe there is some other type of blogger I would like to read π I used to read a lot of life bloggers but they all mostly quit.
Online friends ARE amazing. As I’ve said repeatedly, I love connecting with other bloggers and (like Stephany) have found there is a community of old-school bloggers still writing posts that aren’t touting products, or diets, or clothes or… π
Just speaking from my own experience, I bet if you looked at some of the blogs for people who comment on Stephany’s blog, you’d find some more old-school bloggers whose writing you might like. I love it when people post comments AND share their blogs’ URLs, particularly when it’s in the comments section of a blog I like to read!
(There was someone who used to comment here and blog and I think she just, well, stopped? I still miss reading her blog, though. Can’t remember the name / username…)
Also, I LOVE road trips and I’m so a) envious of yours and b) glad that you had such a good time. π
They are! I should search for those folks, if I decide I want to keep reading blogs. I think you and Stephany are the only two who pop up in my feed as still blogging. Ha.
Almost everyone who commented here stopped. Was it Shelley or Mica?
Thanks, I am too. We already need another vacation, ha!
