A few highlights from the weekend! We had the relaxing weekend I’ve been craving for months. Yay!

Friday

  • Receiving a rock trade in the mail.
  • Mailing Halloween cards.
  • A long talk with Dad.
  • Shooting the sh*t with Diana (the lady who works at the post office by our house)
  • Picking out stamps for our holiday cards. THERE ARE OTTER STAMPS THIS YEAR!
  • Painting some fun rocks based on a scrunchie I ordered from a friend.
  • Watching Dune. Well, listening to it while I sketched out rocks. I need to watch again with my eyes (I caught some of it, but not all).
  • Getting a big rock commission order started.

Saturday

  • Trying out the new Instagram collaboration feature for the first time.
  • A nice cool run.
  • Ordering our holiday card together.
  • Having a mostly chill day – we enjoyed sitting on our new couches and watching TV. We’ve had these couches for a month and hadn’t really spent any weekend time being lazy on them. Mission accomplished this weekend!
  • Getting some chores and organizing done. Ha, I wanted to vacuum the whole house but didn’t want to scare the cats so close to feeding time, so I only got the top floor done.
  • QT with Ned.
  • Steven getting the heater set up in the outdoor cat house.
  • Seeing proofs on some art I ordered for holiday gifts.
  • Watching Free Guy. I laughed out loud a ton. What a fun and clever movie.

Sunday

  • Seeing a beautiful sunrise.
  • A hot bath.
  • A walk with Kathie. It was so nice to see her!
  • Trying a new drink at Starbucks and someone there telling me they liked my nails.
  • Doing the Halloween Advent calendar with the cats (it’s been fun every day!).
  • Filming some Reels.
  • Tooli-Art asking to use one of my rocks for promotional purposes.
  • Helping Steven with yardwork and having Ned join us.
  • Relaxing in the afternoon and catching up on stuff on my computer.

Lowlights

  • Wasting my day off. I took Friday off to relax and it just did not happen. I’m glad I did a bit on Saturday and Sunday.
  • Sh*tty drivers. I cannot stand it when people randomly drive across parking lots and someone almost hit me on Friday because they were doing that. Then later I tried to pass someone who’d been driving under the speed limit for a few miles when a passing lane showed up and they floored it to race me. Just. Why.  I wasn’t tailing you. I was giving you space. A lane showed up to pass you, why not let me? I feel like people drive so much more aggressively since the pandemic. Or maybe I am just getting old and cranky.
  • USPS telling me my package to Australia may be lost. Yay. I submitted a claim. They said it will take 35 days to look into it. Ha.
  • Seeing a bunch of stray cats. One by the house Friday and another with its baby on Saturday and Sunday. They looked so small and hungry. I feel so bad I can’t feed and take care of them all.
  • An Amazon delivery driver driving through our yard in the rain and ruining it. We had it regraded last week and they did a full circle off of our driveway and back on to it. Fantastic.
