A few highlights from the weekend!
Friday
- Seeing my family for a chili dinner.
- Seeing a pretty sunset.
- My snis surprising me with a stuffed animal that looks just like Data (and even has a tie like he used to wear!).
Saturday
- Vegan donuts for breakfast.
- Spending most of the day with my snister and her family.
- A beautiful custom portrait of the cats arriving while we were gone.
- Going to a family friend’s warehouse and touring it for the first time.
- Kittens at the warehouse.
- Getting a vegan Dilly Bar.
- Laughing with family at dinner.
Sunday
- Playing with William in the morning.
- Making bubbles outside with William and Leo.
- Seeing Mom & Dad on the way out of town. And seeing my Jeep. (And seeing a sign to vote for a classmates of mine for city council – very amusing to me to see that someone I went to school with is running for local office.)
- Visiting with Gina, Steve, and Luca.- It’s so nice they are in Iowa regularly now, and that we get to see them.
- Going on a walk with Gina and playing with the walkie talkies with the boys while they drove.
- Playing “this or that” with Gina and Luca.
Monday
- Seeing a super vibrant double rainbow for a lot of the drive home.
- Getting some rain while we were gone.
Lowlights
- Not feeling present this weekend. I’ve been in a funk for many weeks and just DID NOT want to leave my house to go to Iowa this weekend, even though I knew we’d have a good time. (We went back for a huge family photo my maternal grandmother requested.)
- Feeling dumb about a mistake I made with my rock painting stuff.
- I’m leaving a really sad part of the weekend out, but it doesn’t belong in the lowlights section. It deserves its own post if I decide to talk about it.
I’m so sorry you’ve been in a funk… I get it. Know you are not alone.
Thank you Kathie <3
Oh wow, that must be so crazy to see that someone you went to school with is running for local office! That would be WILD to me, haha. Hopefully they don’t have any stupid policies. 🙂
I’m glad you got to see family last weekend, even if it was a hard time. <3
Right!!!! That is how I felt! I started to look at his platform, then stopped.
Thank you! I am too <3
So sorry about the funk. I’ve been in one, too… and it’s making it really hard to work up enthusiasm for driving an hour+ to dinner with old friends tomorrow. I hope your funk gets better (or got better already?)? On the plus side, yay for vegan dilly bar and family / friend time. (Also, you get points for doing as your grandmother asked, really, you do! :>)
I’m sorry you have! How did dinner go? Mine will get better when a family member gets better <3
OMG I need to get the vegan Dilly Bar more often! Ha, thanks 😉
