- We haven’t seen the stray black cat since last Friday. I hope he’s okay.
- A lot of rock painters are into painting stuff from The Nightmare Before Christmas so I borrowed it from Bobbi to watch. It’s quirky and unique and I can see why people like it, but it was NOT for me. And wow, I can’t believe I was 9 when it came out! I remember not liking it as a kid.
- When we left for Iowa last Friday I took a picture of these cute mushrooms in our yard and told some of my friends they were fairy house mushrooms. Then when we got back Monday, they looked disgusting (see second photo). Ick. The rain was good but we have a lot of nasty looking mushrooms in our yard. (Can you tell I am not a mushroom fan?)
- I ordered the Halloween Goodrs and they came in this fun coffin case! I usually don’t keep packaging but I am going to hang on to this for a while.
- I got a 13 day Advent Halloween Calendar for the cats, and they get to start it next Tuesday! Yay!
- I also sent one to my friend in Australia, whose package I mailed over a month ago. Ha. I talked to the PO yesterday and they said it’s been in Australia since mid September, so I hope it’s processed and she gets it soon. I have a feeling it won’t be.
- Are you watching Squid Game? I am intrigued by it, and keep seeing Reels about it! I heard it’s super gory but since I paint while I watch TV I don’t see much of anything anyway. Ha.
- I started a new book because my slow progress on the Stephen King one was really discouraging! I will finish that one some day.

I watched The Nightmare Before Christmas a couple years ago because I, too, knew of people who loved, loved, loved that movie, but, like you, it wasn’t for me. Meh.
I haven’t been on social media lately so I only know of the Squid Game obsession because of the podcasts I listen to. I still don’t have any idea of what it is, lol.
Right? Just something about kidnapping Santa (and torturing him?) and replacing all the toys with creepy ones doesn’t do it for me.
It’s a very interesting concept but too gory for a HSP methinks! It’s about people who have a lot of debt and decide to go play kids’ games to try to win money to get out of debt, but if you don’t win the game, you get shot and killed.
Seriously, the international postal service is ridiculous these days… I don’t even dare to send anything anymore, even though I used to LOVE sending packages to family and friends.
It is! I just sent a package to Germany on Friday. I will post if it ever arrives.
The whole postal service is ridiculous. International is definitely the worst, though. It is now taking over a week for some things to be mailed – literally – across town. I could drive over and pick the dang thing up in 1/100th of the time it takes to meander through the system. (OTOH, I did through some miracle obtain the local PO’s phone number when I was desperately trying to track down a package that inexplicably had postage due… And a human answered. So. Weird.)
And dang, I have had that King book on my TBR for YEARS. Is it worth it, even if slow???
Sigh, that is BAD. And I love that prices went up and it’s taking even longer. I get the labor shortage, it’s just frustrating. Good for you for getting through to them!
I am not sure if it is yet! It was finally picking up the pace when I stared another book. He’s just a bit slow for me. Which is funny, I can do a slow character driven novel, but a slow descriptive novel? Blah.
