The sweet black cat that showed up last Thursday visited again yesterday. I gave him food, tried to pick the burrs out of his gorgeous long fur, then got the crazy idea in my head to take him to the vet to check and see if he’s chipped. There’s just no way he’s a stray. He’s more friendly with me than my cats are. Ha.
We will strip and re-finish our decks someday…
I was able to get him in a carrier! And felt absolutely horrible about how scared he must be, being trapped and traveling to the vet. But we made it (he was actually mostly quiet in the car). He peed in the carrier, but at the vet he was purring and making biscuits. When we got home we rewarded him with some wet food and thankfully he didn’t run right off.
He’s not chipped. And he’s male, with everything intact. So I got him the rabies vaccination and a tentative appointment to be neutered in two weeks. I hope he starts coming around on a more regular schedule so I can take him to the vet for that. Then he’ll have to recover in the garage… then we’ll have to decide if he’s going to go back outside… and we still need to come up with a name…
We’d really love to stick with the Game of Thrones themed names, especially for something all white for a black cat (we previously had Snow (for Jon Snow) then Ghost (for Jon Snow’s direwolf)). Maybe a White Walker name? I’d also love to call him Drogo, ha.Β
He’s SOoooooooo cute! I think you should name him after one of the Night’s Watch…..because they’ve taken the black. I’d have to go back to remember any or their names now though. Or maybe Gendry??
Isn’t he? That is a really good idea! I need to look up their names, too.
I was going to ask if you want to adopt him to whip Toothy in to shape π
Oh wow! He sounds pretty tame for an outside cat, and he is lovely! He is lucky to have found you to take care of him π
He is! Which makes me think he was not an outside cat. Thanks! I am happy to take care of him!
AWWWWW! I am so glad he came back and that he loves being with you guys! Are you going to adopt him????
I want to! But we will see! The cat sitter saw him Friday and hasn’t since! I hope he comes back this week!
