A few highlights from the weekend!

Friday

  • Being able to go into the vet’s office and visit during Apollo and Starbuck’s annual checkup. We have a long-standing relationship with our vet and love visiting with the staff, and they love seeing Apollo and Starbuck since they were literally born there! I haven’t been able to go in the last few times (due to the pandemic) and was glad to.
  • The vet loving the painted rocks I brought for them.
  • Receiving a care package in the mail from a friend.
  • Finishing a rock I didn’t want to paint in the first place. Someone requested a trade and I should have said no. I will be saying no for a while. I really want to focus on getting rocks painted to donate to Sip & Purr.
  • Finishing a great, but heartbreaking, book (Count the Ways). Thanks for the recommendation, Kiersten!

Saturday

  • Having a great run on a beautiful morning.
  • Seeing rock painting friends during one of their kid’s soccer games. It was a lovely morning to be outside chatting with friends! And we filmed the last clip for this big Reel I’ve been working on.
  • Stopping by Jen and Troy’s (we always do when we’re in that area) and seeing they were home and free to visit. Yay! It was so so nice to catch up!
  • Working on the big Reel.
  • Getting some painting done after dinner. I’ve hardly been painting at all!

Sunday

  • Working more on the big Reel and almost completing it. Ugh, in the middle of the night though. I was up from 1:00-5:30 then slept until 7:30. Ick.
  • Helping Rachel and Kevin with some yard work. They built a boardwalk (so impressive!) out to their lake and needed help clearing a path through tall grass and fallen trees on the side of it. With the six of us (two other friends were there too) and the right tools (and with what Rachel and Kevin had already done) it took us a little over an hour! Ahh, the power of helping hands. We were so happy to help! Steven really wanted to help them with the boardwalk, and he asked me about it A LOT.
  • Eating lunch with everyone and visiting in the shade. Ahh, it felt so nice to be outside in the shade with a cool breeze, and to chit chat! Until I crashed from what little sleep I had!

Lowlights

  • UGH, realizing I forgot Apollo and Starbuck’s fecal samples for our vet appointment! I was so proud of myself for watching the litter box and getting a sample I knew was from both cats, then we left through the front door instead of the garage door, and I forgot them in there! But they gave me a box to mail their poop into a lab, so all is saved. Ha.
  • Not quite enough down time. But I have this upcoming Friday off so I can chill then. And maybe catch up on chores?!
