Notes:

  • What happened to our cool mornings? I know, I know, it’s still summer until TODAY and will be warm into October! But blah, the two runs in Illinois last week were too hot!
  • I didn’t know Bayfield, Wisconsin was going to be so hilly! Whoa! It was flat by the lake, but once you went into town it was a climb. My Saturday run was more of a hike anyway – I was hiding rocks and taking photos (and having a lot of fun!).
  • Steven and I went back later Saturday and hiked part of the same trail – it was so wooded and beautiful and had the most amazing nature scent. I want to go back and do the entire trail.
  • Kayaking on Lake Superior was AMAZING. It was stunning to see the rock formations up close and even kayak under and between some of them. I want to do it again!
  • We got in so much activity on Saturday – a walk, kayaking, a hike. It was a lot of fun. The weather was perfect and there weren’t any bugs so being outside was wonderful.
  • Ha, we ended up on a long walk on Sunday by accident! We were using a cartoon map (BAD IDEA!) for Madeline Island which made it look like this 1.1 mile trail went from one side of town to the other, but it actually started close to town and dumped you a mile away from town. Ha! So we had to hike back. We got a lot of steps in both days!
