Notes:
- I really wanted to get to five days in a row of riding sometime in the last two weeks because it meant I would get more points for my team for our work challenge but it just did not work with my schedule or my knee. Oh well. I still contributed over 135 miles! And it looks like we placed 15th out of 151 teams! If I do this again next year I need to ask someone to explain the tips and tricks for extra points to me. Like, if I rode twice in one day for a total of two miles, that was sometimes worth more than a long ride because you got on your bike twice. Ha. Work the system!
- Friday was such a gorgeous morning for my long ride – I’m so glad I had the day off and could ride!
- My knee has been feeling good after a month off from running so I decided to try a short run inside a walk Saturday. As soon as I started my walk I felt a twinge in my knee and thought “AYFKM?!” but when I did the .5 mile test run it felt completely fine. Yay! I know most people would probably do a run/walk combo with intervals but the back and forth messes with my knees and always has. I think I need to do a walk warmup, short run, then walk cooldown. I’ll try running again this week.
- I took my strength workout outside Saturday which was fun, until I discovered I put my towel on an ant hill! Gah, I looked down and my towel was swarming with ants and even though none were on me, but I felt so creeped out!
- I did another strength workout after my hot ride Sunday. I should leave my weights in the car – it will encourage me to use them after I work out outside.
- Monthly recap! In June I ran once – 2 miles. I cycled 240.6 miles (16 rides). I walked 6 times, but cut back on that (along with running), because my left knee hurt (but is feeling better now!). I did 6 strength workouts.
