A few highlights from the weekend!

Also, thank you for entering my Sixteen Year Blogiversary painted rock giveaway! Denise was the winner!

Friday

  • Waking up early to see the sunrise at the beach and shoot some Reels. The water felt so warm and good! I didn’t see an amazing sunrise, but it was a really calming way to start my day.
  • Having time for a long bike ride. And getting an errand done on my ride!
  • Getting some rain.
  • Successfully getting all the furniture into the offices at the new warehouse. The company who had the warehouse before Steven left three sets of office furniture there and we cleaned them and moved them into the offices, but they were EXTREMELY heavy, and there are some funky corridors to maneuver. It was hard work, and I have a nasty bruise from one of the tables, but we got them all in. Yay!
  • A birthday package from Shelley! I was completely beat when I got home, and felt too lazy to get the mail, but I did and I am so glad – Shelley sent me a beautiful sun catcher for my birthday, and getting a package really energized me! I can’t wait to hang it up.

Saturday

  • Having a successful move day (minus one incident below):
    • Steven bought a warehouse for Fake Meats, and Saturday was the day of the move! He had two semi trucks driving back and forth between the two locations, and people at both locations, loading and unloading pallets.
    • We got to the old warehouse at 7:00 am, and I helped finish loading items on to pallets, then when the first truck was loaded, I went to the new warehouse to start unloading.
    • Guess who’s never used a pallet jack before? Me! Ugh. Huge learning curve on those. We used a pallet jack and a forklift to get all the pallets off the trucks. The warehouse has two sections, so we mostly unloaded to one, then moved pallets where they go between loads. It took five truckloads total.
    • We also set up the shelves that were moved over. Sigh. In trying to rebuild one, I pulled one metal shelf off and hit myself in the nose. I leaned over to compose myself then got back to work and one of Steven’s employees pointed out I was bleeding, and since I leaned over, I had it all over my chest. Fun times! There’s a bump in my nose I hope goes away!
    • Steven set up the computer, and we did other organizing and cleaning, and left around 7:00. I was super beat!
  • Getting El Famous tacos for dinner.
  • Going to sleep. Ha.

Sunday

  • An early walk with Tricia before it got too hot. She is such a sweetie – she had a birthday present for me – some socks (that have a cat butt design on them that I’ve painted), some homemade vegan caramel pear sauce, and some Santorini stones to try.Β  I can’t wait to try that sauce!
  • Making a funny Reel with Tricia. Ha, ha ha ha. I make myself laugh.
  • Seeing a deer up close on our walk.
  • Feeling good on a hot run.
  • A mani/pedi with Lorena.
  • Getting some grocery shopping and chopping done.
  • Finally sitting down to eat and watch a movie. Oh! And paint a rock for a Reel idea I had. I am all about the Reels lately!
  • Going to sleep. I was still so exhausted on Sunday. My forearms are so sore from carrying those shelves around!

Lowlights

  • Waking up with a headache around 1:30 am Friday morning and staying up. I got a lot done though? I hit my exhaustion point right when I got to the warehouse to help move furniture, but I had some caffeine and rallied through!
  • AHHHH, witnessing a bunch of geese walk through the busiest intersection in Gurnee, IL on Sunday. Thankfully, everyone stopped or drove around them. It was going to ruin my day to see someone plow through them.
