- I never thought I’d say this, but I understand the allure to quitting blogging and going straight to Instagram – it’s much easier and you get a lot more interaction. However, I hate reading long text on there (basically anything I have to expand to read) so I will always be here. But I get it.
- My personal training license expires this July and I don’t plan on renewing it. Eek! It’s a hard test if I decide to ever retake it, but I am not interested in teaching right now and don’t think I will be soon.
- Gah, it’s so annoying you can’t initiate a message with someone via the Facebook Business Suite. Someone mentioned they wanted to commission a rock as a comment on a post and I told them to DM me and they didn’t so I was going to DM them… but I can’t until they DM me first.
- I am so excited to see F9 this Sunday! We finished Fate of the Furious last night and are all ready to go!
- We finished watching the Treehouse Masters show, ahh! Now to find something new to watch at lunch…
- I was so excited to find these pretty rocks Monday and wondered who the artist was… then I found out they were by my friend Lorena! How fun!
- Sigh. Work training. That’s all I’m going to say. Just a little more than a day and a half left!

How fun that you found Lorena’s rocks!! What are the odds! π
Right?! I saw she hid some more pretty ones today! I told her to post them on the group page π
What’s funny about your first bullet is that I’ve been feeling the opposite. Instagram is burning me out a bit and I’m finding my blog to be much more fulfilling now. And I don’t get a ton of engagement on Instagram so it can feel like posting into a void. I’m trying to decide if I want to challenge myself to post every day in July on Instagram OR take a break from the app completely. Not sure what I want to do yet!
So cool that you found a friend’s rocks!
That is funny! I am glad your blog is feeling so fulfilling! I wonder if you’d feel refreshed after a month Insta break like you did for your blog this year! You aren’t going to take a break from the girls’ account though ARE YOU?!?!?!??!!?!?!??
Right?! I can’t wait to see her Thursday and talk about it.
I guess, I agree with your first post… it would be easy to quit blogging and go straight to Instagram, but I hate the micro-blogging on there (can’t stand superlong captions that extend into the comment section… I always wonder, do people really type all this on their phones?)…. but also the engagement is so-so for me. Some people get SO MANY comments. How?
No, I stick with my blog. I really feel that that is my space… and it’s not as much of a competition as IG (even if you don’t want it to be one).
I always wonder if people really type on that on their phone too, and if anyone is reading it. I surely am not. If I have to expand to read I’m very likely NOT going to. I want to see images. Which is why I keep blogging, so I can do long form! It sure is a lot more work though (blogging)!
Your first comment is interesting. I’m on Instagram but mostly to follow people. I don’t post much, mostly because I don’t post pictures of myself on IG or my blog, for personal and professional reasons. Also, I cannot take a selfie. Seriously. I have never taken one where I don’t look deranged.
Anyway! I love reading your long-form blog and also dislike having to expand the caption to read it all. I appreciate that you’re willing to keep writing here.
Your friend’s rocks are lovely! So much fun that you found them!
Oh my gosh, I take the worst selfies too. If you see me post one, know that I took at least 10 others. LOL. It’s an art and skill I DO NOT have.
Thank you! And yes, I hate reading long stuff on Insta. Not sure what it is about that platform!
Yes! I can’t wait to see what else she creates!
