Remember how I mentioned reaching out to Sip & Purr to ask if they wanted some cat rock donations? I hadn’t gotten around to it yet because I have been working on birthday rocks, rock trades, and have another rock obligation coming up for Star Wars Day, but long story long, THEY reached out to ME! The owner sent me a message on Facebook asking for some rocks! I was like “YES YES YES!!!!!”
Here are the rocks I painted in the last week, starting with one I actually painted three weeks ago, for Mica’s birthday, which was last week. One of the many things I love about Mica is her passionate pursuit of hobbies, which ultimately broaden her view of the world. I find her devotion inspiring and made this rock to celebrate her new quarantine hobby of surfing. The design is based on a sticker by Big Moods but I modeled the lady and board on Mica and her board. Happy (belated) Birthday Mica!
And another I painted awhile (two weeks) ago for my sister-in-law’s birthday, which was Wednesday. She is from Alaska so my brain immediately went to “paint a pretty nature scene for her!” I modeled this off of an ad for a paint by numbers thing I saw on Facebook. Happy Birthday Alyssa!
I am really happy with how both of these gift rocks turned out. The varnish coats made the colors nice and smooth.
My sister sent me a picture of a t-shirt with some cats with Kiss face paint and the word “HISS” above them, and it inspired me to make this rock. I hid it on my Monday walk.
When I was searching for Kiss cat ideas, I found an image similar to this, so I painted it. I hid it on my Thursday walk.
While running errands Friday I saw a mug with a design similar to this, so I painted it. Did you know today is National Unicorn Day? I hid this this morning!
Instagram showed me an ad for a sticker similar to this, and I thought it would be fun to paint. I hid this with part of a cat set on my Tuesday walk.
We planned an Easter picnic the day before Easter, and I didn’t have any rocks to hide! So I made these quickly. I used sharpies for the backgrounds and poured isopropyl alcohol on them for the bleed/dye effect. Then I painted the designs on them and sealed them. I like how the colors turned out! They were more vivid in person. We hid them on our Easter walk.
I saw a Big Moods sticker with this design and gave it a go. My lettering is not great. I had to paint the word “Dogs” so many times the paint was layered too thick and it got messed up. Oh well, I’ll get better. I haven’t hid this yet.
I decided to make the hot dog part of this cat set. I hid them on my Tuesday walk.
Snister sent me an image similar to this back in January and I am finally painting my version of it. I haven’t hid it yet.
I googled “cat stickers” and got a bunch of ideas, like for this set. I hid these on my Tuesday walk.
This was another idea from googling “cat stickers,” and another I still need to hide.
This was a request from someone for a trade for their rock. I don’t think I want to keep doing trades. I prefer to make the rocks and gift them, not collect them. I liked how this turned out though.
I saw an ad for bird pins by OMG Cute Illustrations and made them into rocks. I still need to hide these.
OMG, you are truly an influencer if you have companies reaching out to YOU. But how cool that they did, especially since you wanted to reach out to them. I’m so excited for you!
I mean, OBVIOUSLY, the hot dog is my favorite one in this collection. 🙂 I also really love the Easter rocks – so vivid!
Thank you!!! I am so so so excited! So far I have 16 rocks painted for them. I want to get to 50!
I need to do a whole wiener dog series! Thank you! I liked how those dyed rocks came out!
I’m a little late, but I am so honored to have received a Kimbot rock! <3 I have it on my desk, and seeing it when I'm absent-mindedly looking or in a funk always brightens my mood! Thank you for such a special gift!
I am so glad it cheers you up! I really enjoyed making it for you, minus trying to draw those straight black lines. LOLOL.
You’re welcome!!!
Wow. Look at all of those and such a variety of subjects. That first one makes me miss the beach and the ocean.
It makes me want to visit there, too!
