A few highlights from the weekend!

Friday

  • Hiding a unicorn rock for National Unicorn Day.
  • Breakfast sandwiches by Steven.
  • Seeing a draft of my Kim Hides the Rocks logo. As a treat for myself when I hit 1,000 followers I commissioned a logo and love how it looks so far!
  • No work meetings!
  • Picking out some trees to plant in our yard.
  • El Famous for dinner.
  • Working on rocks for Sip & Purr.

Saturday

  • Getting my walk in before the rain (it started raining right when I closed my car door to leave the preserve – perfect timing!).
  • Picking up Gina’s cake and some treats for us from Pie, Pie My Darling. I also hid a rock there too!
  • Getting a compliment on the cat earrings I was wearing.
  • Seeing that someone re-hid one of my rocks in Mesa Arch National Park in Moab, Utah, and that the person who found it posted it in our group.

  • Eating lunch out! In an actual restaurant! That’s the first time we’ve done that in Illinois in over a year.
  • The most amazing vegan quesadilla of my life. But wait. Was it actually vegan? It tasted so much like real cheese I took it up the counter to ask and they confirmed it was potato cheese. I had such an amazing experience eating it that I bought two to take home. We heated one up for dinner with our El Famous leftovers and it tasted more starchy and not as good. So the first one was either real cheese or it just doesn’t heat up well. Hmm. Oh well.
  • An afternoon nap. It rained all day (after my walk!) and it felt like the perfect day to be inside and nap!
  • Painting some “dyed” rocks for Sip & Purr. These are “get them right on the first pass” rocks because I can’t really “erase” (i.e. paint over the background) to fix errors on these. I’m happy with how they turned out.
  • Trying the Cookies & Cream Cup-Cake we picked up at Pie, Pie My Darling.
  • Reading a lot before bedtime. I am reading a sci fi book I am really in to (The Long Way to a Small, Angry Planet).

Sunday

Lowlights

  • Loud music.
  • Being upset seeing other people run on my walks. Ha. Grow up, Kim.
  • Feeling jittery all day Sunday. Not sure what that was about.
  • People driving crazy. Has anyone else noticed this? Is this a “warm weather” thing? I keep getting passed in no passing zones (granted, I am only going 5 over) and am seeing other dangerous stuff. And so much traffic. Wah wah wah.
