- I don’t want to brag or anything, but I’ve had a few nights where I’ve slept from whenever I went to bed (usually between 9:00-10:00) ALL THE WAY TO 4:00 am without getting up to go pee. AMAZING!
- In other boring sleep news, I still have guilty dreams about staying in Italy the summer after my spring semester there, instead of coming home.
- I had a video call with a coworker on Tuesday, and noticed Apollo was behind me after the call. I took this silly selfie to send Steven and noticed I had sauce from lunch on my nose. For the entire video call. Ha ha ha. My coworker said they didn’t notice.
- In the grand scheme of things, this doesn’t matter, at all, but not being able to run right now (and yes, it’s only been A WEEK) is bringing me down more than I’d like. I’m trying to stay positive and busy, and go on walks, and blah blah, but it doesn’t give me the same endorphins. And the earlier mornings and longer evenings are making me feel like I need to DO THINGS and the thing I’d usually do is run. I am kind of itching to get out of the house. It will heal. It’s already better than last week. I can go up the stairs with minimal pain now.

I can’t even see any sauce in that picture so I think your co-worker was telling the truth!
It’s hard to not be able to run in weather like this! I wish swimming was an option, since that would be so good for your knee, but I’m guessing pools are still closed π Would bike rides bug your knee too?
Phew! It was homemade mac and cheese sauce, not red sauce, so that helps.
Exactly! And yeah, I can’t go to the pool and biking bugs my knee! So lots of walks, ugh.
I couldn’t see the sauce, either!
I’m sorry you’re still sidelined on your running – that is very frustrating! I can hear you on walking getting boring when you can’t alternate it with something else!
My oldest, Florian, was doing trail running this winter and is also having knee issues – his PT just did dry needling on his knee (eww!) and it seems to have helped a bit, he is picking the running back up, little by little. But he is going to have to be careful with hills…
Oh good!
Yeah, I feel grateful I can move at all, it just doesn’t give me the same endorphins!
Oh wow! I would love to try dry needling! I am glad it helped! I am going to be so careful will hills too – probably walk them up and down.
Ugh, I feel you on the not running… we want it most when we can’t have it! Hope your knee is better soon.
Exactly! And we want it when we have good weather, ha.
I am not seeing any sauce at the end of your nose. Sad on the not being able to run right now. Hoping for fast healing. Always good to be Zoombombed by the cats.
Phew! I guess it was more visible in person!
Thanks, I appreciate that!
Yes, I love when they show up for my calls. My coworkers love it too!
Ugh, I’m sorry about your knee pain! Are you still getting regular massages? Or is there some other way to rehabilitate your knee so you don’t get injured again? (I can’t remember how you injured this time, but I remember you couldn’t run for a bit last year, too.) That’s so frustrating, especially since running is your happy place! I hope the knee gets better soon.
Thanks! I am not anymore, although I probably should, and there are other things I want to consider, like acupuncture, dry needling, maybe even a chiro! And the thing I REALLY need to do is lose weight. I am not body shaming myself, I overate and got to the weight I am at, and I need to lose it, and then my body will likely be happier! But right now I am having the pity party of “well how can I lose weight if I am not running?!” even though weight loss is mostly diet! LOL.
But thank you! It is getting better – I can do stairs now! Yay! I might try a run/walk this week, or might wait until next week (I won’t know until I try, because if anything is off I will stop immediately and keep waiting).
