A few highlights from the weekend!
Friday
- Hiding a humorous rock on my run.
- Steven making breakfast sandwiches.
- My morning meeting being canceled!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I was able to get focused work done, yay!
- Someone from one of my rock groups hiding one of my cat rocks at the Milwaukee Cat Cafe – Sip & Purr. I really love Sip & Purr and their rescue missions and support them monthly. I wonder if I should donate some cat rocks for them to sell!
- Catching up with Bobbi on a walk (and hiding rocks that my group really loved, yay!) and Bobbi giving me the funniest coasters ever! I mean, just look at them (above) – cat butts! Every time I see them I laugh out loud!
- Steven figuring out we can watch Apple TV on our Roku. (Well, we don’t have a subscription but we can access the one movie we bought on iTunes. I know, I know, we need to watch Ted Lasso. Interestingly (but not really) we’ve just been watching shows on Discovery+. There are just SO many things we want to watch on there! Now that we’ve been watching Treehouse Masters for a month I have ideas to build a treehouse guesthouse. The problem is our trees are not super healthy…)
Saturday
- Having a good long run and taking a hot bath after.
- Steven teaching me how to use the chainsaw then cutting down my first tree. It was a sick baby tree that the top half had fallen off a while ago, and I said I’d like to learn to use the chainsaw on that one.
- Being able to lift really heavy logs in the yard.
- Receiving positive feedback on the Jeep rock commission I did in February. Yay! I love when people love my rocks.
- Playing with the cats. Khali was being so funny – I’d slid this little bird/feather toy across the floor and she’d run and pounce and throw it in the air.
- Painting some new rocks. Snis sent me this really fun idea that I just had to start. I can’t wait to hide it, hopefully today after work. And I got two requests on Saturday afternoon to do trades within my group!
Sunday
- Meeting a new rock-painting friend (Tricia!) for a walk. We had so many things in common – our love of reading, sci fi, animals, and of course, rock painting! I am looking forward to going on another walk with her.
- Being lazy and watching a few shows with Steven.
- A short nap.
- Seeing an eagle from our house.
- Trying a new lasagna recipe. We tried one that had a béchamel sauce instead of a ricotta layer! Yum. Then we had a slice of the Aldi vegan banana cake for dessert. So good! And to top it off, we watched a Nicholas Cage movie from 2011. Banner night, I’ll say!
(one half has vegan cheese and one half has dairy cheese)
I always make our lasagna with béchamel – and I put lots of grated veggies in the sauce. It has been a favorite family recipe for years now, one of the first things I veganized and everyone actually liked. Are you going to stick with béchamel or go back to ricotta?
Yes, yes! Such a cool idea to make rocks for the cat café to sell!!!
Oh awesome! I doubt we will stick with it as our go to – it was a lot of work and didn’t add a ton of flavor (and the ricotta layer is easier) but I bet we will make it from time to time!
I need to reach out to them and ask!
Those cat butt coasters are EPIC.
I say yes – you should reach out to the cat cafe about selling your cat rocks!
You used a chainsaw!!! That’s amazing!
I reallllllllly want to watch Ted Lasso, but I don’t have Apple TV 🙁
They are so amazing and perfect for me!
I think I will! I bet the catpuccinos or coffee cats would do well there.
I was so scared! Ha!
Do you not have a way to get the app or no log in? I didn’t think we had a way to get the app so now I need to see if I want to pay for it to watch that.
$4.99 a month and there are 8 episodes of Ted Lasso. Worth the $5. Just remember to cancel the subscription as it auto renews.
Oh yeah, that is not bad to just watch that one show!
I am two episodes into Ted Lasso (I have a 1 year Apple TV+ subscription). It really is good, but there are so many options on so many streaming services.
