- The non-triumphant return of couscous was last night! When the shutdown started I said “let’s see how long we can go without making our lazy couscous meal” (which we call “couscous caboose”) and we decided to bring couscous back last night! But… I haven’t bought it in over a year, so it was stale. Ha ha ha ha ha.
This is not couscous caboose
- Speaking of the shutdown, my job has mandatory work at home until September 8th of this year. Cool cool.
- Back to last night. After dinner we heard noises in the kitchen and told ourselves it was the cats playing in the taco truck. Um, no. It was Starbuck destroying this spice packet we left out. We joke that she has a worm named Steve and is hungry all the time (and must eat everything, including spice packets). But really, where does all the food go?
- A lot of my job is coordinating and connecting people, which is rewarding, but a lot of work. No wonder Iβve stepped back from doing it in my personal life.
- I thought I was doing okay with DST on Sunday then I felt destroyed Monday night and Tuesday am, and have had a hard time waking up in the morning, and falling asleep at night (despite being tired)… like everyone else. At least I saw the same pretty sunrise as everyone on a Monday when I got out of bed to run.
Khaliiiiiiiiiiii.
I’ve been wondering how long companies are going to have people continue working at home – I’m guessing most are just waiting to see when vaccines open up for everyone to consider a timeline. September 8th seems reasonable!
That sunrise is UNREAL. I haven’t felt the time change too much, thankfully. It’s definitely a bit harder to get out of bed in the morning but, well, it usually is for me, haha. π
I wonder about that too! We’ve always had such a robust work at home policy I bet we’ll never be back like we were. Our leadership has been so great about being understanding and transparent I’ve never been worried about when we’d go back! I bet I won’t even be in the office in Sept! LOL.
I am glad the time change is not affecting you much!
We haven’t gotten any word on how long we’ll keep working from home but I am assuming it’ll be a while and I am also guessing that we’ll get an option to just go back part-time. We’ll see.
I was surprised to get a specific date of “you won’t return sooner than this” because we hadn’t before! I hope you get some direction soon!
The DST change took me a few days to adjust. I kept sleeping in till 8am until later in that week.
I hope you feel used to it now!
Yes, unfortunately. Back to waking up at 6:45am π
