While I was posting a photo of my rock hide this morning a couple I always see walking pointed at it and said “there’s one!” So I told them I just hid it and it turns out they know who I am – they saw me hiding rocks once, joined the Facebook group, and now whenever they see my car in the parking lot they say “Kimbot’s* here!’ and look for my rocks. They also said some really nice things about my artwork.
This interaction made my day (so far!). I keep mentioning this but I have to say it again – I love the feeling of connection and community the rock hiding group gives me. I don’t have another community here – I don’t have kids in school, I don’t belong to any religion, and I’m not in any fitness groups anymore. I have friends, but I don’t have a place where connections are likely to happen because people are joining around a common activity. Well, now I do, and it feels good!
*I have a custom plate that says that
So awesome! We all love when Kimbot is around:)
Aww, thanks! 🙂
It’s so great you have been able to put your creative energy into a hobby that also gives you that social connection! 🙂 Win win!
Yes, total win win!
This is so cool! I’m so glad you’ve found such a great community through this really fun hobby. Yay!
Me too! I never would have expected that to happen!
Awh!! That’s so cool that they recognize you now!!
I thought so too! I haven’t seen them since! I keep hoping I will run in to them LOL.
That is so awesome. I know what you mean about the community… all of my community is on IG LOL
An IG community is great though, right? I am really forming some relationships with people on my rock account, and it’s so fun, especially as they are all over the world!
I love when a positive interaction with others happen. And more rock recognition.
Me too! It’s so nice to meet new people. I guess I am a bit lonely, working at home all the time now!
