A few highlights from the weekend!
Friday
- Being able to sleep in until 8:30 after being up from 3:00-6:30. (It was my Friday off!)
- Liking almost all the items in my Stitch Fix. (I’ll post the crappy pics I took this week)
- Being warm enough on my run (it was 11°F and windy).
- A driver giving me the thumbs up and honking and smiling at me on my run.
- Finishing the horrible show Bloodline so we can watch something new.
- Taking care of some organizational stuff around the house.
- A short nap with Khali and Apollo.
- Getting a Valentine’s Day card from Gina.
Saturday
- Starting a new book.
- A walk by the lake.
- Getting my Starbucks for the week. And hiding a rock there!
- Picking up a rock to paint and dropping two rock gifts off.
- Talking to my mom on the phone.
- Seeing deer sleeping in our yard.
- Getting more “animals with hearts” rocks painted.
- Vegan Pasta Alfredo – a night early!
Sunday
- Watching “The Courage to Run” and “Running on Hope” while running on the treadmill.
- Being lazy with Steven.
- A nap with the cats.
-
Loaded Totchos for dinner while watching the game.
Lowlights
- Feeling sick to my stomach Friday night. Maybe that popcorn I ate at lunch was bad…
- Seeing a stray cat by the library. He seemed fine but I felt bad for him. I actually went to the library twice Saturday and brought cat food the second time in case I saw him (I didn’t).
- Then seeing sad cat stuff in Instagram Reels.
- Feeling sad about not using my library anymore.
- Seeing pictures of myself from 5 years ago when we moved in to this house and feeling sad about how much weight I’ve put on.
- Yes I was hormonal this weekend.
11 degrees! I’ll cancel my morning walk if it’s under 50 degrees. I’m a winter wimp. 🙂
Don’t you hate when you see photos of yourself, even from just a few years ago, and are like, “Damn, I thought I was fat then?!” It’s always crazy to think how crappy I treated myself and now I sit here MAAAANY pounds heavier. Blah. I hate those feelings and you’re not alone!
I hope things get better, friend. <3 The winter blues seem to be hitting both of us hard this year!
LOL! I don’t think you are a wimp. That is cold for you there!
I do hate it. 🙁 And for me it’s more like, what was I doing then that encouraged me to take better care of myself? Why did I care then?! Why don’t I care now? UGH. Thanks for relating. Although I wish you didn’t! LOL!
Thanks, and they will! <3 For both of us I hope!
I hope your sadness has lifted and that – despite the temperatures – you’re having a better week. There was an article in the Washington Post this week about how we are all hitting the Pandemic Wall at different times – and often because of seemingly small things. For one mom, it was the drudgery of Taco Tuesday and the neverending cycle of cooking-eating-cleaning. In other words…you’re not alone, and I do think the little things (or a pile up of them) have a lot to do with it. Take care of yourself.
It has a bit, thanks for asking!
Oh gosh, I totally believe that! That is me losing it over small things too. Like, I cannot believe how nice it was not to cook-eat-clean for two days while I visited my sister in Iowa. I needed a break!!!!
Hope you are taking care of yourself too <3
I had Starbucks this weekend and started a new book as well
“Think Again” by Adam Grant

That sounds good! How is it so far?
It is good so far. I really liked his previous book “Originals” which was a great read. These are skill building books so they help open up new ideas and new ways of thinking. Much better than any self help book, IMO.
Forgot to add the link to his site for the Originals book

Thanks! Sounds better than a regular self help book!
