A few highlights from the weekend!
Friday
- A mani/pedi with Lorena. Although it was right after work and my day was so hectic it took me a while to calm down and actually enjoy it.
- Finding a new jacket to run in.
- Getting Starbucks as a treat from my snis.
- Homemade vegan mac n cheese for dinner.
- Watching a brand new movie (The Little Things – it wasn’t good but it’s nice to have new content).
- Having fun on Instagram.
Saturday
- Doing a tough leg workout.
- Seeing Rachel and her husband’s new place! They bought a home on a lake and we’d been so excited to go see it and see THEM! AND GET A HUG FROM RACHEL! We’re so happy for them and are looking forward to more visits.
- Giving them the custom cheese board we designed and ordered from Etsy. Steven had an awesome idea to have an outline of their lake with their last name on it.
- Rachel saying she hoped I had a rock gift for her (as she opened the rock I painted for her). Aww.
- Delicious Mexican food for lunch.
- Playing Taco Cat Goat Cheese Pizza.
- Arriving home just as the storm started. It’s really a lowlight that we had to leave early but I’m glad we did – the storm was nasty.
- Watching another new movie – The Dig. Better than the movie the night before.
- Starbuck being a lap cat.
- Finishing my third book of the year (The Great Believers – I loved it!). I’m not reading at the pace I did in 2020 since I have a new hobby, and I am totally fine with that, but it felt good to get to three books, since I post my recaps in groups of three. Ha!
Sunday
- Pancakes, sausage, and hash browns for breakfast.
- Seeing a feature on This Old House about Eben Horton, a glassblower who hides glass orbs on Block Island near Rhode Island. How cool! Here’s a New York Times article about him (pdf here).
- Blogging every day of the month. Will I continue that in February??!?!?! We shall see.
- Clearing out the 9″ of snow we got. It took us almost two hours!
Lowlights
- Needing a bit more downtime. Work kind of did me in last week and the start of my weekend was pretty busy and wah wah wah.
Oooh, homemade mac and cheez, my fave! Nom nom!
I hope you get some downtime soon!
So good! And I think we still have some leftover!
I will! I have Friday off. Although I have a few appointments. LOL.
A hug?? What is that like? Sigh. One day…
I love your new pink jacket! It’s a very flattering color for you. π
Right? We were like “WE ARE DOING HUGS” and it was pretty exciting!
Aww, thanks so much!
Yay! I’m glad you got to see a friend and give a HUG. And a rock gift. π
I feel like you’ve started off the year with longer, heavier books so it makes sense that your reading pace has slowed down a bit. And it’s also okay for one’s reading pace to slow down, no matter what! Do what feels good!
Me too!!!!
I totally did! I need to remember to not do that next year cause it makes me feel kind of meh!
I noticed that you posted every day! I only do that once a year during NaBloPoMo… LOL
And I don’t think I have ever done it that month! LOL!
