Notes:
- I was so proud of myself for running 5 miles on the treadmill Monday without stopping – that’s far for me! I broke up my last two treadmill runs before with lifting before/after each mile (and did that for the one the next day). It’s warm enough to run outside again, but it’s kind of nice to do the run/strength split and (I hate this phrase but) kill two birds with one stone.
- I broke my “movement every day” goal this month by taking a rest day Wednesday. I mentally needed it after my work day. But I had two travel days this week and a full day with family and I got some movement in each of those days, yay! I thought I would run in Iowa, but it was -6°F the morning I was going to, so I waited until the afternoon when it was warmer and went on a family walk.
Well done on the treadmill run! I actually occasionally miss being able to go to the gym and get on the treadmill for a run, when it’s cold and dreary out. Something about being able to run without having to worry about dressing for the weather and being able to get hot and sweaty… But they gyms are still closed here and I wouldn’t put myself at risk if they were open, anyway.
That is the great part – just putting on shorts and a tank and not having to worry about getting too cold with all that sweat on you! I cannot imagine working out in an enclosed public space, either.
Doing long run on the treadmill is hard.Good for you!
I miss having access to a treadmill.
Thanks! It is! I can’t believe when I started running, it was mostly treadmill! Did you used to have one at home, or gym access?
I’m glad you took that rest day – it sounds like it, and the time with your family (not sure how I missed that?!) were just what you needed this week!
You would keel over if you knew that the vast majority of my runs are… on the treadmill. I run at you-don’t-want-to-know-what-time and it’s always dark, plus I cannot run when it’s below 35 (I’m a wimp, you can tell me as much!). So much safer – and warmer! – to run at the gym. I know it’s high-risk BUT I go so early that there are rarely others there while I am running – and those who are there are usually across the gym in the weights area. And of course masks are required.
It was! I am going to go back to one rest day a week, and not force myself to movement every day, in March. I just can’t seem to figure out my new work schedule yet! And that is okay.
I would not keel over, I am in awe and impressed! That is awesome you are able to use the treadmill, and excel at it, and feel safe there (yes, much safer than outside!). Do you use a paper mask?
