My snister gave me a placemat with Star Wars characters on it, and they were just asking to be painted on rocks! So that’s what I’ve worked on all week.
I used to be a huge Star Wars fan, so it’s kind of odd it’s taken me this long to paint Star Wars rocks.
But the oversaturation of Star Wars (after Disney acquired them) kind of killed my interest. I don’t even own the last two movies (VIII & IX), or any of the origin story movies (Rogue One or the Han Solo one) and have only seen them once in the theater. <— Insert cat making home alone face!
But I still love the original trilogy (IV-VI), and have fond memories of seeing them for the first time, yes, when they were re-released, because I was not alive in 1977, 1980, or 1983.
And I have fond memories of seeing Episodes I-III as a teenager and young adult. Even though they were NOT great movies, I have special memories from seeing each one.
And it was really fun to paint these – the placemat style aligned perfectly with my “cartoony” painting style.
I’ll probably hide them tomorrow on my walk with friends! It’s finally warm enough here (for now) to go on walks and hide rocks again, yay!
Hopefully people know who TF these rocks are, when they are hidden separately, and not in a set!
Well done! Princess Leia is my favorite, love her sassy stance! Reminds me of how salty she was to Luke and Han, ha ha!
I feel the same about Star Wars – the original movies were great and then they just got progressively worse, didn’t they? But like you I have great memories seeing the first three and they will always be nostalgic for me!
Exactly! She was my favorite too and the only one I thought about keeping!
Yeah, it really feels that way π They got too over the top or something once the technology caught up with Lucas’s brain.
I love them!! I didn’t even think about you referencing the characters on there when I got you that placemat, but I’m glad they were some good inspo!! <3
Thank you! They totally were!!! Don’t forget to send me other inspo!
Loving these Star Wars rocks. They all turned out really great.
Thank you!!!
