Notes:
- More tights talk! As you know, I am looking for warm tights for cold and windy weather. My friend Joanna recommend Gore Tex so I put these (R3 Women Thermo Tights) on my wishlist and my father-in-law got them for me for Christmas. I ran in them Tuesday and felt great! I still need to try them on a windy run, but I felt warm and comfortable on this one. My only complaint is that I wish they had a higher waist, but I just wore tall socks and pulled them up!
- We got snow on Tuesday, and when I went to run Thursday I decided to see how it was on the trails. Ha. The snow was packed down but it was so taxing on my legs. I did one mile on the trails and finished the rest on the road. And I listened to music again and my last four miles were fast, for me!
- I started the new year off with a walk with Kathie, and then I walked with Bobbi on Sunday… and we saw Kathie! Ha! I am very grateful for my walks with friends and for pleasant weather to walk in. I hope we can keep meeting up.
- I felt lazy this weekend. Sigh. I just wanted to paint rocks. To my credit… I am working on gifts… does that make it better? Anyway, 7 miles for the long run. I was going to run 5 but when it was in the 30s and not windy I added more on!
- Monthly recap! In December I ran 94.7 miles (18 runs). My coldest run was 14°F and my warmest was 47°F. I walked 10 times. I did 11 strength workouts at home.
- Yearly recap! In 2020, I ran 1,562.3 miles, cycled 80 miles, and walked 220.3 miles. I did 15 speed sessions and 23 hill sessions. My coldest run was 14°F and my warmest was 85°F. I taught 19 strength classes and 3 fitness boxing classes. I quit teaching this spring. I did 96 strength sessions at home. I ran one race (before they mostly shut down due to the pandemic – I was signed up for one other half that became virtual) – the Publix Atlanta Half Marathon. I ran my highest weekly mileage in (72) in July and my highest monthly mileage (252.3) in June. All that running gave me a hip overuse injury that took a month to recover from. Then I later had a knee issue, I am suspecting due to sitting in a funky position on the couch and being overweight. That took a month+ to recover from. I hope my running is more consistent in 2021!
Despite the pandemic and being out for a month with your hip and then later again for your knee, you had a great running year! Well done!
Thanks! I am happy with how it turned out! I hope I can be running higher mileage this summer again, but I won’t do so many long runs 😉
