Ha, not related but here is my Top Nine from Instagram from 2020. More than half of the photos are from our February Atlanta trip! I’m glad all three cats made it this year.
December turned out to be a great month! A few highlights, in no particular order:
- We got an upright freezer for the basement
- I got a promotion at work
- I started painting rocks and hiding them, and discovered I love it
- I had three lovely walks with friends, and a friend over to visit
- I attended a running podcast live show and loved it
- We went on two car dates (one and two)
- We had fun celebrating Steven’s birthday at home
- Steven got a lot of the electrical installed in Dragonstone
Here is what I am looking forward to in January!
- Staring my 2021 page-a-day calendar
- Starting all my trackers over for 2021
- More rock-hiding walks with friends (I have one today!)
- Seeing my family in Iowa for a late Christmas
- Starting my new position at work
- Later sunrises

Gosh, I didn’t realize you only started painting rocks in December! Was December 858 months long?! I thought you had been doing it for much longer, for some strange reason.

I need to find my 2021 page-a-day calendar. I had a cats-themed one for 2020 and I’m not sure what I want for this year. Hmm.
I’m looking forward to getting my first-ever facial this month, getting back into an exercise groove, and the NFL playoffs. 🙂

I love January – it is the month for fresh starts! I have some piano goals (play every day and learn some new songs) and reading goals (read 50 books this year!), I am looking forward to 30 Days of Yoga with Adriene, and I will start a new round of Blast on January 16th.

Made the first recipe from the calendar – it was a tofu croquette and we all liked it.
I am working on a book of beginner level piano pieces by the Belgian composer Jef Neve – he brought out the books in 2019 and I bought the first one, and learned the first piece, but never got any futher than that. There are 12 more in the book and so my goal is to learn one new one each month so that I finish the book this year.

What’s the theme of your page-a-day calendar this year? Also, do you use the pages for notes or just recycle them when you tear them off?

This year it’s “Texts from Mittens” – pretend texts from a real cat. LOL. I usually recycle them since they are double sided. I should do that though on the blank parts – I use post-its A LOT.

I got a We Rate Dogs page-a-day calendar this year and I am EXTREMELY excited about it, haha. I’m looking forward to a year full of good dogs. My sister also got me a monthly calendar that has drawings of animals in bathing suits, which made me literally lol when I opened it. It’s hilarious. Hooray for fun 2021 calendars!
I’m looking forward to our anniversary, but I’m especially looking forward to the cake we get for it 😀 The bakery where we got our cake gives you a free cake for your first anniversary, and I’m so excited!! I forgot to order it on time, so we’ll be having a delayed celebration, but whatever. Cake is cake!

OMG YES! That is so cool they make you a fresh one! We saved our top and ate it on our anniversary and it was amazing!
I had a page a day calendar for 2020. It was a Star Wars one. Lots of details on each day for us Star Wars nerds. What is the page a day calendar you have?
Oh fun! I have never had a Star Wars one! The one I received this year is called “Texts from Mittens” and it’s all texts from a snarky cat to its owner and other people in its life.
