When I started rock painting I found images of other rocks to copy as closely as possible. As I became more confident, I looked for different prints for inspiration (*cough* to copy *cough*). Maybe someday I will come up with my own ideas! For now, here are some recent rocks next to their inspo pic.

Kathie gave me these tea towels and I love the pattern so much! I made a version of Stephany‘s cats and a version to hide on the trails (and eventually attempted to paint Bobbi’s cats).

I’ve had this doggo wrapping paper for a long time and Gina suggested I use it for rocks. I took these to the forest preserve on Monday and left one rock on each park bench and posted in my Facebook group that the doggos were looking for someone to walk them. Four of the rocks were reposted by people who found them! It’s so exciting when someone reposts my rocks.

Snister sent me an image of this wrapping paper she was using and I attempted to copy it but I didn’t love the results, so I glitter-fied everything (except the one I thought looked good!) hoping that would help. Meh. I left these in the forest preserve yesterday.

Snister also sent me this coloring book page for inspo. This rock was super frustrating. The darkest color changed color after I primed the pen again so I couldn’t use it for touch up. And I was so impatient for the ink to dry and kept trying to outline it before I should and it kept ruining my pens and getting tackier. I learned a lot with this rock. I said sayonara to it on Tuesday (and the person who found it reposted it!).

Snister (she is sending me lots of good ideas, which I appreciate!) sent me this face mask on Monday and I had to copy it! I really like how these turned out! I haven’t hid them yet. She sent me the next two ideas too:

Ha! This is my redemption rock from the first time I tried to draw a unicorn freehand (there are no photos of that that I will share… and I sprayed over the rock itself in black because it was so bad). This one turned out a little better. I had to redraw it a few times because I would start at one point and “run out of rock.” I am getting a little better at that but I’m not there yet, as you’ll see below…

Do you see the hidden “cat”? (One of my dogs looks super cat-like)

I was really hoping I got the spacing right but the doggos on the bottom are closer to the edge than I’d like them to be. Oh well. I bet someone will still enjoy finding it. I am going to take this one to hide on my run today… if i decide to go out in the cold! Merry Christmas!
