A few highlights from the weekend!
Friday
- My knee feeling normal during my strength workout and run.
- Ordering some holiday themed face masks.
- Attending a virtual woodlands tour put on by the Lake County Forest Preserves. It was so interesting and informative! We ended up learning a lot about our property based on what we learned about the woodland near us!
Saturday
- Looking at the digital frame with Steven while he made up fake stories for each picture. Gah, he was cracking me up!
- Listening to podcasts and finding and re-hiding a rock on my walk.
- Seeing one of the 2020 cat holiday Starbucks gift card (and getting a chai). It’s so cute!!! And I love getting the holiday cups.
- Filling up a dumpster with unusable Dragonstone scrap (and a few big boxes and things from around the house). We’ve had some pallets of scraps in our yard for almost a year and we are both glad to see them go!
- Receiving the other 2020 cat holiday Starbucks gift card in the mail from my snis! We always send them to each other.
- Receiving our holiday cards from Shitterfly.
- Taking down all the cards on our card display in the kitchen to get it ready for receiving holiday card and getting a few holiday cards ready to mail.
- Goulash for dinner.
Sunday
- Breakfast sandwiches by Steven.
- Seeing a part of the preserve by my house I’d never been on… and seeing our dead end street from that part of the preserve.
- Staring season 2 ofΒ The Boys.
- Going down a rabbit hole on my own blog while looking for a photo.
- Finishing addressing holiday cards. I think I will mail them this Saturday. Since everyone is putting their trees up early, I can mail my cards a bit early, right? (I usually drop them in the mailbox right before Thanksgiving.)
Hey it’s 2020, there are no rules so mail your cards whenever you want! I’m warming to the idea of pulling out our Christmas decorations at some point this week and getting everything set up. It’ll be a nice change of scenery from everything I’ve looked at a billion times since March, LOL.
Glad to see I’m not the only one getting holiday face masks. I have a couple of Santa Hawaiian masks plus a Buddy the Elf one for me. I will hold off on wearing them until December 1st, though. π
Woot! That is how I was leaning π You totally should! It will feel so nice to see something different in the house! Have you not done any of your usual rearranging and decorating? You are so good at that!
I can’t wait to see your masks! You HAD to get Buddy! I am wearing mine AS SOON as I get them, which could be today or tomorrow!
You are so good about ordering your cards! That is on my list of things to do this month…at least I already have an idea what pictures I want to use…that is half the work!
Thanks! I think getting the pics is half the work too. I started collecting them earlier so I have them ready to go and try to order in Oct! I was late this year since we were waiting for Dragonstone to be “done.”
I bought a Christmas tree this weekend and have been decorating already! It’s the earliest I’ve ever decorated but I need the Christmas cheer, haha. The cats are very happy about it, too. π
This post reminds me that I need to look up holiday-themed face masks!
That’s awesome! I can’t wait to see it decorated! Is this the first time the girls have seen one? Ours love to lie under the tree. And knock ornaments around.
Yes! Mine just arrived!!!
I made goulash for dinner to last weekend. Is it the American goulash or the ‘beef stew’ kinda goulash?
I need to get our holiday cards ordered ASAP.
It must be the American one – mostly tomatoes and more like a pasta dish than a stew? And with Impossible Burger ground “beef.” Which one did you make? It’s so hearty!
Do eeet! Do you have them picked out?
I LOVE your holiday themed face mask! Those avocados are so festive! How fun!
I had it in my head that we’d do holiday cards this year now that we’re married but…idk. I assumed we’d use one of our wedding photos, but it feels kind of weird to do that now?? Kind of brag-y? Like, “Look at this full-blown, indoor party we managed to have in 2020 because we happened to get married before the pandemic!” I’m probably overthinking this, haha. It would be a good way of getting our new address out to people, though! Decisions, decisions – and decisions we’ll need to make ASAP, unless we want to send out Valentine’s Day cards haha.
Thanks!!!
You should totally use your wedding card and the people you are sending them to will NOT think it’s braggy and it will be a perfect opportunity to get your new addy out there. But yeah, order soon! π
Love the face mask AND the normal-feeling knee. Wins all around!
I haven’t sent cards in years (*hangs head*). You’re making me feel guilty!
Thanks! My runs this week felt so great, ahhh, it made me so happy!
Don’t! Only do it if you enjoy it! I only started a few years ago and don’t feel like I need to receive one to send one to that person. Do what you like! π (I just love sending cards year round)
