A few highlights from the weekend!
Friday
- My first run in the 30s this fall.
- A friend liking the flowers Snis and I sent her.
- Getting my READ ID only taking 35 minutes. YOU GUYS. COVID-19 has somehow made the DMV better. I spent less time there than I did driving there and back. Woot! Ha, funny note – I had to go in because I got a letter that said my vision test was required, then they told me they couldn’t have me take it due to COVID-19. Ha. Oh well. I’m glad this was not as horrible as I made it out to be in my head.
- Getting a mani/pedi with Lorena and gossiping. (Gina went to her nail salon Saturday and got the same color as me so we’ll be twins when I see her this week!)
- My snister liking the package I sent her.
Saturday
- Sleeping in.
- Jelly Belly having candy corn. We live really close to the Jelly Belly Center and it’s going out of business and I meant to buy some candy corn before they did and went on the last day possible of the sale. Oops. But I got some! It’s the only one I know of that does not have gelatin in it… but it does have confectioner’s glaze… sorry bugs.
- Getting the house tidied up.
Sunday
- Trying a new vegan pancake mix.
- A video chat with Efit friends.
- A walk with Steven followed by chais.
- Xaarlin sending me a screenshot from the London Marathon showing us in the background of Molly Seidel racing at the Olympic Marathon Trials in Atlanta.
- The cats loving the new dry food I got them to try. I was trying to find something with more natural ingredients (and ended up trying something with no wheat).
- Prepping meals for our river trip – lasagna and chili.
- Trying a new vegan chocolate cake (brownie) mix.
Oh no! Iβve been meaning to get Jelly Belly candy corn too! Iβll just have to try online.
Also, how was the chocolate cake?
Let me know if you find it someplace online – I have never seen it in stores! They had a HUGE box of it for $48 but I passed.
The vegan mixes were good! Let me know if you want the link! We still have a funfetti cake one to try!
Miss you!
The cooler running temps sound so nice!
I can’t believe I didn’t know (or forgot) that you live close to the Jelly Belly sore…and now it’s closing! Ugh, I missed my chance!!
How was the new vegan brownie/cake mix?
They are! And I can still wear shorts and not get frostbite on my legs, ha.
I didn’t feel like the “deals” there were that great! The jelly bean bar was fun though.
It was good! We still have a funfetti one to try too.
I didn’t know the Jelly Belly store was closing!!!!! Nooooooooooo!!!!! I’d always meant to go there π π π You’d think I would’ve managed to do so during at least one Wisconsin Marathon weekend, but nope. SIGH. Oh well. What could’ve been!
I wondered if they’d actually make you take your vision test. When I was there, they were waiving it for I think everyone under 75? But I didn’t know if that had changed and didn’t want to get your hopes up, ha. Though I think you’d have to be in person to get a Real ID anyway, right? So it was still worth going, I’d say – especially if it only took 35 minutes! Impressive!
You were not missing out – it was super cheesy and the deals weren’t that great π The tour was just of a warehouse!
Ha! I appreciate not getting my hopes up and your tip to go later in the day! And yeah, you do have to go in person for your REAL ID anyway! If they’d given me the option I probably would have renewed by license by mail and gotten my REAL ID later (because where am I going?!) but now I will have it!
Woohoo – so glad you got the license stuff over with! Isn’t it funny when things that we think are going to be awful and we build them up so much in our heads to be awful… and then they aren’t? It happens to me all the time!
Is Jelly Belly the company going out of business???
Me too! It happens to me all the time too and I wish I wasn’t filled with so much dread and anxiety and could actually look forward to things without worry. (Thinking about everything, not just the DMV, LOL)
They are not, they are just closing the location by me π
