A few highlights from the weekend!
I’ve been moody lately because my knee hurts and I know I need to take better care of myself (but am struggling) and didn’t want to write this but finding these little highlights actually cheered me up so yay!
Friday
- Taking silly pics of the cats with the skeleton Mom gave me.
- Brick being delivered for installation on Dragonstone tomorrow!
- Reading with the cats in bed after work.
- Finally getting some more natural wet foods for the cats to try. It’s been on my to-do list for a few weeks and I wanted to go to a store to look at the cans, rather than try to look at hundreds of them online. The cats aren’t liking their pate anymore, and it’s not a very high quality one to start with, so we want to give them something with more natural ingredients and less by-products.
- My Drivers License arriving in the mail. I have to show it to sign some financial documents this week and was hoping I didn’t have to use the paper copy they gave me at the DMV.
Saturday
- My knee feeling decent enough to work out. I lifted and went on a walk.
- Catching up on podcasts during my walk.
- Helping Steven in Dragonstone. We cut and painted all the frieze boards.
- Seeing our neighbor’s trail. His woods are next to ours and he’s made a trail through them.
- Finishing a book I loved (Happy & You Know It).
Sunday
- Sleeping in.
- Starting a new book I know I’m gonna enjoy (The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo).
- A breakfast sandwich.
- Dropping off our ballots.
- Getting chais then going on a walk in a gorgeous preserve I hadn’t been to before.
Ugh, I’m sorry your knee pain is putting a damper on your running and your mood. I hope it stays well enough that you can at least get some pretty walks in during the nice fall weather.
Did your ballot come with a sticker?? How will anyone know you voted?
Thanks, I hope so too! It feels a lot better but still not 100% so I am still resting (from running).
It did not! People will have no idea that I did! I am so ashamed! (Only, not at all. Gawd, the reminders to vote and people being so pushy is getting SUPER old.)
Aww, I am sorry your knee is bumming you out 🙁 Good for you for focusing on some of the good things going on and taking your mind off of it a little bit. I really hope you get some real relief from it soon, though.
My mom sent me “The Good Neighborhood” for my birthday and I am really having to pace myself reading it, it is so good!
Thanks! It’s feeling a lot better, thankfully but still not 100% so I am going to keep resting it from running. Ugh.
Awesome! I can’t wait to hear what you think of it when you’re done! I hope you’re having a wonderful birthday!
Ugh, sorry about your knee! That’s such a bummer. Resting is hard when you’re used to getting so much activity, so I hope it feels better soon. <3
I am sooooo excited that you are reading Evelyn Hugo!!!!
Thanks! That is exactly what it is. Running is such a huge part of my identity and I just feel blah when I don’t.
I am really enjoying it! Dying to figure out why she wanted Monique!
