A few highlights from the weekend!
(This sounds like a super lame weekend but I actually feel very fulfilled by it, and mostly stayed off my phone, so yay!)
Friday
- Running feeling normal again.
- Reading outside on the hammock, with the cats.
- My TacoCat Creations Etsy order arriving and the cats going nuts for the toys.
- Lasagna for dinner.
- Starting a puzzle – my first one during the pandemic.
Saturday
- Finishing the book I started on Friday.
- Going on a walk with Steven.
- Exploring a lakefront property with Steven and finding a secret beach.
- Grilling lunch.
- Working on the puzzle and watching part of the new Little Women.
- Getting basil from our neighbor and chatting with her.
- Making pesto.
- FaceTime with Gina, Steve, and Luca.
Sunday
- A successful “long” run! (i.e. my longest run of the week. I am so happy to be running again!)
- Meeting our neighbor’s daughter and granddaughter. (It was the daughter who sent me that very nice letter.)
- Sharing some of the pesto pasta with our neighbor.
- Seeing Lorena and getting a manicure.
- Pasta Alfredo for dinner. (Pasta three nights in a row! Woot!)
- Apollo destroying his cat house then approaching it minutes later acting all apprehensive about the state it was in. Gah, Apollo was making us laugh so hard, like, did he really not remember he destroyed it?!
Lowlights
- Feeling old AF. Friday night/Saturday morning my shoulder hurt from doing puzzles. I woke up Sunday morning with a sore neck, either from doing puzzles or sleeping wrong. Ha.
- Driving in a rainstorm with low visibility on Sunday. Scary!
Oooh, I love your donut puzzle! LOL to puzzle injuries – it’s not that you’re old, it’s just because you are new to this sport, your body will adjust soon π
It’s really fun! I love puzzles that have colors like this that I can sort by. And I am using the new puzzle sorting trays Steven’s dad got me for my birthday!
LOL! Yeah! That’s it! I’m a novice!
I love those cat toys – thanks for including the link as I want to get something for my son’s sweet cat.
Sorry but I had to laugh a bit at your sore neck – I had to stop doing my pandemic puzzles for the same reason. It’s not from age – no one is made for that kind of bending for any length of time. Sadly I still have several new puzzles to work on but can’t make myself start one. Best area would be my kitchen island counter because of the height. But…not really practical, LOL.
You’re welcome! I definitely recommend a Fizzle Stick!
Gah! You are so right! It’s like “smart phone” neck – we need our puzzles at closer to chest or eye level! I have ours on our low coffee table. It would be best on the dining room table but the TV isn’t in there! Do you think you will use the kitchen counter? LOL π
YAY for being able to run again! This might help with all the emotions you’re feeling about you-know-what. Not being able to feel those endorphins probably didn’t help with everything!
The new Little Women is so good! I didn’t love the book but I love the movies!
Oh, puzzle injuries! I’m going to agree with the other commentators, maybe just adjusting to bending over and such? Puzzle making is hard work! π
Yes it is! I am so grateful I can run again!
It is! I had forgotten how much I liked it.
It’s ridiculous! Apparently I need to work at a waist height table standing up or something!
