A few highlights from the weekend! It felt strange to have a quiet weekend after being around friends and family the last two, and to not fill that quietness with running! But it was good to relax and get back on track with errands, chores, and sleep (ha).
Friday
- Getting some chores done first thing. I feel so off my routine, that doing chores actually feels really good, like I’m accomplishing something big. Ha.
- Going on a bike ride.
- The cats being freaking adorable.
- Grocery delivery actually having basil (they said it wouldn’t!) so I could make pesto pasta.
- Receiving birthday presents in the mail from xaarlin.
- Working on a presentation on Dragonstone for work.
- Pesto pasta for dinner.
Saturday
- Sleeping in.
- Listening to podcasts on a walk.
- My Drive shirt arriving (they sent me one since I was the Daily Driver on July 30).
- A delivery of Foxship cookies arriving. Since storing them in the freezer, store bought cookies just aren’t cutting it when I crave a cookie (yes, I could make some). Foxship to the rescue!
- Having the time to read and finish a book (even though I didn’t like it, ha).
- Shitterfly magnets arriving! It’s nuts how fast they came – I just ordered them Wednesday when they had the $1 magnets and free shipping deal. I ordered 25 magnets and spent $25.65. The cost before the discount? $200.21. Insane. Don’t ever pay full price on Shitterfly, y’all.
- A present coming just in time to send it to a friend for their birthday.
Sunday
- Seeing the sunrise over a lake on my walk.
- Drinking a chai out of the fun tumbler (it changes colors!!!!) my snis gave me.
- Cleaning the windows, trimming the hostas, and catching up on podcasts. Steven sprayed the house and yard for bugs Saturday (it’s an intense process and I appreciate him doing it, along with all the other yard and house stuff!!!). The spray leaves sticky streaks on all the windows, so I try to clean them as soon as I can after he sprays, and it makes me so happy to have clean windows.
- Steven making me a vegan breakfast sandwich, and trying the JUST folded egg for the first time.
- Checking out siding samples for Dragonstone.
- Starting a buddy read with Stephany.
- Steven helping me write a Garage Project post for this week. It’s been a while and I have EXCITING NEWS COME BACK AND READ IT!
- Steven installing the digital clock he got me for my birthday in the basement (workout area).
Lowlights
- Accidentally locking Starbuck in the basement for two hours on Saturday. She went down there when I lifted and I didn’t realize it, and didn’t let her out until I got back from my walk and had taken a shower! Sorry, Pew Pew.
- Low voltage install (for Dragonstone) on Sunday. Ha, it didn’t go as planned, but we came up with a solution.
I don’t know why the picture of the cats in the bottom right of your collage cracks me up so much, but it’s so good, hahaha.
SO MUCH SUSPENSE ABOUT DRAGONSTONE. I can’t wait to see what exciting news you have! Way to keep readers on their toes.
Poor Starbuck. π I am always so worried I’m going to locking a cat in my closet when I shut the door, lol.
YAY FOR BUDDY READING!
I was surprised Starbuck wanted to be outside when I was cleaning because it the squeegee makes a squeaky noise that sometimes scares her!
Hee hee, I was trying!!! Trying to get people to read those long boring garage posts π
It’s so easy to do! They sneak in to places and you don’t know they are there! Years ago, when Steven and Data lived together and I was on the phone with Steven while he got ready to work, he was about to leave the house and was like, “wait, where is Data?” He backtracked all his steps to find him under the bathroom sink, in the cabinet! And he just walked out like “oh hai!” LOL
YES! I am really enjoying it!
That magnet pricing is BONKERS!!!!!!!! WHAT?!?!?!?!?! Also, holy cow, CAN YOU IMAGINE spending $200 on photo magnets?! That is a WILD amount of money!
Your digital clock is so fancy! Makes me think of a fitness studio!
Those Foxship cookies are OUT OF CONTROL. omg. I love them! I would never know they’re vegan – they taste just like cookies made with eggs to me! You’re the nicest π
Isn’t it?! When I saw my “savings” my eyes bulged. LOL.
Thanks! It does make it feel more “official” in the basement gym, ha!
I am so glad you love them! Aren’t they insanely good (and filling, lol)? Which flavor is your fave?
Well, I haven’t had any of the chocolate ones yet, so I can’t say 100% sure. We’ve been splitting them and put them in order of anticipated least favorite (oatmeal raisin) through most favorite (chocolate chip), and we still have the chocolate chocolate chip and regular chocolate chip to go. That being said, oatmeal raisin has been my surprise favorite so far! The other ones were delicious, obviously, but the oatmeal raisin one was SO cinnamon-y and wonderful. I’ve never liked an oatmeal raisin cookie more than others before!
That is a smart way to test it out!!!! Oatmeal Raisin was my surprise fave too and one of the flavors I order a 6 pack of now! I thought I was gonna love Snickerdoodle cause that is my fave to make at home but it was not my fave from them!
Oooh, what do you use to clean your windows? Mine are really gross and I think it’s my responsibility (not my apartment complex’s…). Hm. Maybe I should check that with them first… Anyway, I’d still like to know what you use! And is that just a regular squeegee? (File under “most boring comment ever”…) Thanks!
Not boring at all! I use a 50/50 vinegar and water mix. I use this squeegee and wipe the blade after each time I use it. https://www.menards.com/main/grocery-home/housewares/cleaning-supplies/cleaning-tools/libman-reg-telescopic-window-washer/188/p-1444438070818-c-7113.htm That would be awesome if they are supposed to clean them!
