Notes:

  • I knew I was close to my monthly mileage personal distance record (PDR) when I finished my Tuesday morning run, and looked it up and I was 2.01 miles away from beating it. I didn’t want to run after work, and don’t think my body wanted me to, but I went out and ran 2.1 miles anyway, and have a new PDR of 252.3. Woot!
  • I did NOT do the same thing on Sunday when I finished the week running 70 miles and looked up my weekly mileage PDR and saw it was 70.4. Ha. If I get close to 70 again, I will run that extra .5.
  • I was sad the DJs I like were on vacation this week! I’ve really gotten in to listening to the radio on my morning runs and it was all reruns of their skits. I’m sure they’ll be back tomorrow.
  • We’ve entered the time of year where no matter how much Body Glide and Vaseline I use something always ends up chafed because I am sweating so much. My hydration pack cut up my back so bad last Sunday that I didn’t wear it again until this Friday.
  • When I was six miles form the end of my Sunday run, I stopped at a gas station to get water and Vitamin Water. I did not have enough money for the 2 liters of water I wanted and Vitamin Water and was so excited when I could use my phone for Apple Pay! And I almost drank all of that in the last two miles. Crazy. (I had already drank 2 liters of water and a Vitamin Water before I got there.)
  • I used to be a six-days-a-week runner and have moved to five-days-a-week since it feels better to have two recovery days. I told myself I’d play around with six days again when I lost enough weight, and now I am wondering if I should play around with six times doing a short double like I did Tuesday. Hmm. Or not. It’s hot out.
  • Monthly recap! In June I ran 252.3 miles (22 runs). I did 4 hill repeat sessions and 3 speed sessions. My coldest run was 48°F and my warmest was 81°F.  I did 11 strength workouts at home.
