Raise your hand, er, leave a comment, if bugs love to bite you in the summer?

That damn Memoji again! Why is she smiling about this?!

I’m experiencing my classic summer conundrum of “should I run on the trails in the shade with the bugs, or should I run on the roads in the open sun and not get bit?”

UGH.

I really want to run in the shade, especially as it gets hotter – it makes such a difference in making me feel cooler (<— obvious statement of the year award goes to…). But I’m losing my mind with the flies biting me over and over. And they are rampant in the woods (and anywhere near woods), and bite me through any bug spray I have on.

I feel the bite and slap the fly and usually kill it (ha! take that!). It stings a bit then, but it’s at its worse when I wake up the next day with it burning, then it itches all day long. Wah wah wah.

And the bites SWELL. I originally had a photo of my shoulder here to show you how bad it looks, but it was too gross. Here is a cute photo of my nephew Leo with some bug bites on his head, instead. Poor guy!

Mosquitoes love me too. Steven does a great job spraying our yard with insect repellent so I don’t get as many mosquito bites as I used to… at home, anyway.
