A few highlights from the weekend!
Friday
- Having a great long run. I somehow had a spike in energy for the last two miles. Strange, but I’ll take it.
- The protein powder I ordered arriving as I was starting to make my smoothie. Perfect timing!
- Getting a few chores done after my run instead of napping like I wanted to.
- Finishing a great book. And starting a hard copy book!
- Hanging up that funny cat card snis send me for Mother’s Day.
- A goofy shirt I ordered arriving in the mail.
- Takeout and movie night – we got El Famous and watched Tron: Legacy. I forgot how much I love the Daft Punk soundtrack from that movie! I bought it when it came out – I need to put it back on my phone.
Saturday
- Sleeping in. It’s been a few Saturdays since I’ve done my “feed the cats then go back to bed” routine. I was up from 4:30-6:00 then slept until 9:00!!!!!!!!
- People receiving gifts I sent in the mail.
- Putting my construction jeans on and having them fit just right. It’s been a long while since they did. I’ve lost some weight over the past couple of months and it’s nice to have clothes fitting better.
- The UPS guy saying he was impressed with our garage build. He came by when I was working on zip-typing the radiant heating tubes down and asked me how we learned to do all that (reading and YouTube!), and how much we were doing on our own. It’s nice when people comment on it!
- Steven bringing home Starbucks. Gah, we were short about 20′ feet of tube so Steven had to go pick up a 300′ roll (eyeroll) but was also able to get us some iced chais, yasss.
- Getting the radiant tubes installed and having them hold pressure. Now they just need to be inspected, then the concrete sidewalk and apron can be poured! Exciting! Once that’s done, we can bring the Datsun home from storage!
- Talking with Mom on the phone.
- The rest of my burrito for dinner.
Sunday
- A f*cking fantastic long run. I had a surge of energy in the last three miles this time. Who am I?
- Grilling. It blows my mind we’ve grilled four weekends in a row – we usually do it once a year and that’s it. I’m loving being outside while the food preps, eating outside, and chilling outside after.
- Chilling the rest of the day.
- Pasta Alfredo for dinner. We’ve been making it most Sunday nights and I don’t think I’ll ever get sick of it.
I LOVE your shirt!!!
Thank you!!!
Ummm… Imma need to know where you got that shirt because I FOR SURE need it.
You had a great weekend, it seems! Hooray for killin’ it on your runs and all the garage progress! Amazing!!
You definitely need it – here’s the link: https://www.zulily.com/p/heather-charcoal-im-an-indoor-cat-relaxed-fit-tee-416179-81455249.html
It was a great weekend! Thanks!
When you can impress the UPS guy…but seriously, I’m sure he sees so much everyday so the garage progress has to be an interesting diversion.
I’m surprised you guys don’t grill more often. We do it almost year round – I like less mess inside the kitchen, plus when we can grill meat (I know that’s not for you) and veggies, it’s even better.
Also, yay for Starbucks! And for your jeans being looser! Good job with that, especially during the pandemic!
Hee hee. We have been talking, wondering if our delivery people find it interesting or DGAF!
I guess we just aren’t that in to it! We like it when the weather is good for being outside with the grill – so a couple of months a year. It feels like a lot more prep to me to take everything outside to cook, than inside. I still make a big mess in the kitchen, ha ha ha. That is awesome you guys do it almost year round!
Thanks!
I love that your sister sent you a mother’s day cat card. That’s really sweet and thoughtful!
Who *wouldn’t* be impressed by your garage build?! I’m glad someone acknowledged all the hard work and time you’ve put into making Dragonstone just how you want.
I thought so too! And every time I read it it makes me laugh so much. She’s so funny. Or rather, the cats told her to write some funny stuff.
Thank you for saying that <3 It is nice to be acknowledged! I am really excited for my mom to see it someday cause she'll go over the top with ooohs and ahhhs and I'll love it!
