A few highlights from the weekend!

Friday

  • Having a great long run. I somehow had a spike in energy for the last two miles. Strange, but I’ll take it.
  • The protein powder I ordered arriving as I was starting to make my smoothie. Perfect timing!
  • Getting a few chores done after my run instead of napping like I wanted to.
  • Finishing a great book. And starting a hard copy book!
  • Hanging up that funny cat card snis send me for Mother’s Day.
  • A goofy shirt I ordered arriving in the mail.
  • Takeout and movie night – we got El Famous and watched Tron: Legacy. I forgot how much I love the Daft Punk soundtrack from that movie! I bought it when it came out – I need to put it back on my phone.

Saturday

  • Sleeping in. It’s been a few Saturdays since I’ve done my “feed the cats then go back to bed” routine. I was up from 4:30-6:00 then slept until 9:00!!!!!!!!
  • People receiving gifts I sent in the mail.
  • Putting my construction jeans on and having them fit just right. It’s been a long while since they did. I’ve lost some weight over the past couple of months and it’s nice to have clothes fitting better.
  • The UPS guy saying he was impressed with our garage build. He came by when I was working on zip-typing the radiant heating tubes down and asked me how we learned to do all that (reading and YouTube!), and how much we were doing on our own. It’s nice when people comment on it!
  • Steven bringing home Starbucks. Gah, we were short about 20′ feet of tube so Steven had to go pick up a 300′ roll (eyeroll) but was also able to get us some iced chais, yasss.
  • Getting the radiant tubes installed and having them hold pressure. Now they just need to be inspected, then the concrete sidewalk and apron can be poured! Exciting! Once that’s done, we can bring the Datsun home from storage!
  • Talking with Mom on the phone.
  • The rest of my burrito for dinner.

Sunday

  • A f*cking fantastic long run. I had a surge of energy in the last three miles this time. Who am I?
  • Grilling. It blows my mind we’ve grilled four weekends in a row – we usually do it once a year and that’s it. I’m loving being outside while the food preps, eating outside, and chilling outside after.
  • Chilling the rest of the day.
  • Pasta Alfredo for dinner. We’ve been making it most Sunday nights and I don’t think I’ll ever get sick of it.
