Notes:

  • I was feeling somewhat down on my pace last week and figured it slower was from running too much, but duh, it’s also slower because summer temps and matching dew points hit last week and early this week and it’s been hella muggy. It was 65° with a dewpoint of 63° when I started my run on Wednesday at 5:07 am, and… that’s just gross and why would I be acclimated to that yet?!
  • This was confirmed on Friday’s run – the humidity and dew point was lower and I felt amazing, like I was flying. Finally, a non-shuffle run. Woot!
  • My friend Cristina from college teaches Zumba and I took her online “305 Vibes” (all Pitbull music!) class on Saturday. She’s a great teacher and it was a lot of fun. I don’t have much rhythm but that never stopped me!
  • My new shorts gave me such a mind f*ck Saturday morning. They’re the same size and brand/model of the shorts I wear now (just not stinky and falling apart), but when I put them on, they felt tight and were riding way up. I was like, “huh, maybe I am not losing inches in my legs and waist like I thought? Maybe my shorts are just stretched out?” (Also, if you want to check if you’re losing inches Kim, use a tape measure.) Ha, then I washed them yesterday and noticed they have a 2″ shorter inseam, even though they were advertised as the same size. That explains that! (and they aren’t stretched out yet.)
  • The nice thing about having a buff around my neck all the time now is I can pull it up when I smell something stinky on the run!
  • Monthly recap! In May I ran 232.1 miles (23 runs). I did 4 hill repeat sessions and 4 speed sessions. My coldest run was 36°F and my warmest was 70°F.  I did 11 strength workouts at home.
