- Today is my close friend Courtney’s birthday and I’m so excited for her to open the gift I sent. It arrived two Saturdays ago, and I know she always waits until her birthday to open presents (as I like to as well), but I’ve been really pumped about this one, so I’ve been pretty giddy for the day to arrive. Would you wait until your birthday to open a present you received that early? Take my poll below!

- Ha, since I wrote this she decided to open it yesterday and loved it!
- I was surprised the cats didn’t check out the new bench in the foyer right away. Ha. Now, this is what’s going on anytime I want to use it:
- Long story short – something on me was STILL smelly after showering after Tuesday’s run and I figured out it was my watch! Ew! I switched out to a different band (and thought, “gee, I should really clean all my bands”) and ordered myself a new band for funsies (and it came the next day). Purple!
- It’s been so hot here and while we’ve had the air on, it’s still kind of stuffy in our bedroom upstairs so we remembered to turn the ceiling fan on and whoa! It made a world of difference! You’d think after living in this house for four years, where there’s a ceiling fan in nearly every room, I’d remember to use them. Ha.
- So much of my work is waiting on clients or colleagues to do their thing so I can do my thing… and it’s made me so anxious about having the ball in my court for too long. I fear holding something up, even though I know other people sometimes take their sweet time to get something done. I want to get things done ASAP. Why am I like this?! It’s made me like this with (some) other tasks in life too – just hurry up and get them done. Ugh.
- And since we mentioned work – yay for that short work week! It’s my Friday off and I’m very glad to have a three-day work week.
Haha, your cats own that bench now. You should get another one for you. π
I think I need to!!!
I always wait until my birthday/the appropriate holiday to open gifts I receive in the mail (and cards, for my birthday). That makes opening them feel like it did when I was growing up!
I love that so many fitness-related watches come with replaceable/interchangeable bands these days. Not only does that save you from having to buy an entirely new watch when a band breaks, but I feel like it makes the watch *feel* new even if it isn’t. I especially like getting new ones after I’ve worn one through the summer and it gets sunscreen goo and residue all over it.
I am like that too! It makes it more of a celebration π
Yes! It totally makes it feel new! Especially when I change my face to a purple color I have never used before! Gosh, they get so gross, don’t they? I try to clean and reuse them, but the ones I wore during home remodeling in the summer of 2016? Had to trash that one!
Do you think the cats were waiting until they had adjusted to the smell of the new bench? Or maybe the ambient smell of the house overpowered the “new bench” smell.
I like the new band (but you didn’t get orange??). Are you going to clean the old one(s) or give up on them?
(My watch band always stinks too. I guess wrists are just…high traffic areas and therefore gross.)
That could very much be it! I think they were messing with me too!
I have an orange one! It doesn’t look as cute on me as I’d like it to. Ha! But I bet I will wear it soon. I will def clean them, although one I think has paint on it and I need to reorder that color.
Yeah, and I only wash that part of my wrist in the shower. I don’t take my watch off to wash my hands. Maybe I should! Do you?
Oh, but of course the bench was really intended for the cats all along, now, wasn’t it? π
I think everyone knew that but me!
