Notes:

  • Ugh, Tuesday’s speedwork was rough. I need to whine. It was windy and rainy and I couldn’t run my normal route because it was flooded. So I ran a different route with a hill in the warm up and cool down, traffic, no shoulders, and inclines on the speed route. Sigh. I didn’t even feel like I was running faster on my 400s, but I was and it was consistent enough. Hopefully the weather is better next week.
  • I felt so crappy after Tuesday’s speedwork that I skipped dinner, then got up in the am to do my normal Wednesday run and felt like GARBAGE – from not eating and running two runs too close together (my body needs more than 12 hours – more like 22!). Ugh.
  • I felt great for Friday’s run though, phew.
  • I did something new on Friday – a virtual strength workout with a friend. I really enjoyed it! That is what I miss about strength with friends – catching up while working out.
  • For weeks I was saying I could see the speedwork paying off and it’s not anymore since I am running much longer. Before I’d feel like I was running slower but find out it was faster and now… it’s the opposite. Hee hee. I need to decide which I want to focus on for the summer (speed or distance). I usually slow way down in the summer and run less.
  • On my Sunday run (gah, so steamy!) a group of cyclists from the place where I have my bike serviced passed me and I knew two of them! So that was super exciting for me, since I rarely see people I know when I workout.
