Notes:

  • Wearing shoes in the house had made my left foot feel 100% normal! Yay!
  • I felt great for my speedwork Tuesday and ended up doing each 400 faster than the previous one! Woot! That was not planned!
  • We got so much freaking rain this week – almost 4 inches. I was moody when it rained all day Wednesday, a day I normally run. KIM, how about you chill the eff out and be more flexible with your schedule? GEESH. (I’d run in the rain, it just doesn’t seem safe with traffic out here.)
  • I keep repeating this, but it’s true – speedwork is paying off. Even when I feel like I’m slogging along, my pace is faster than I think it will be.
  • Ha, except on Sunday’s run! I knew the trails were going to have some flooding but WHOA. I had between 8-10 long, deep water crossings that slowed me down. My legs appreciated the walking for sure, but my pace stayed slow. Fine with me! Also, I’m glad I didn’t debut my new shoes for this run. I purposefully ran in an older pair, expecting all the water crossings.
  • Toward the end of my long run, a lady in the park approached me, got right in my face, sans face covering, with her off leash dog to ask if we could run together. I appreciate the friendliness but not right now. Gah. And please leash your dog in the park.
  • Monthly recap! In April I ran 168.5 miles (20 runs). I did 3 hill repeat sessions and 4 speed sessions. My coldest run was 29°F and my warmest was 52°F. I cycled 20 miles (2 indoor rides). I did 13 strength workouts at home.
