A few highlights from the weekend! (These are so repetitive during our stay-at-home order! But I want to keep documenting my weekend. I run. I eat. I watch Steven work in the garage. I nap. I read. Ha.)
Friday
- The grilled cheese Steven made for lunch.
- A Zoom date with Anne and Xaarlin.
Saturday
- Getting up early and finishing a book, then going back to bed for two hours. (I know I put this here almost every week but I am LOVE LOVE LOVING this *new* routine!)
- Having a lazy day and watching Homeland (we just started season 5).
- Homemade pizza for dinner.
- A beautiful sunset.
- A phone call with Mom. I love how my mom is always genuinely interested in our lives.
Sunday
- Feeling great on my long run. My left foot was stiff on and off this week but felt great on the run!
- Calling Mom back to finish up our call.
- Getting a happy birthday email from the vet for Khali.
- Hanging out with Steven in the garage a bit while he worked (Saturday, too).
- Taking a short nap with Apollo.
- Writing a letter to my maternal grandma.
- Attempting a new cookie recipe.
- Finishing Bad Education on HBO.
We watched Bad Education last night – holy cow, the nerve of what they pulled off for so many years!
Repetitive or not, I like your weekend highlights. 🙂
Right? WHOA! Just whoa. I want to follow up and see if the woman who broke the story became a writer for a newspaper!
Thank you! 😀
You reminded me that I wanted to check up on her – turns out she’s a conglomeration of newspaper staff students. Here’s more on the movie vs. real life: https://slate.com/culture/2020/04/bad-education-accuracy-fact-fiction-hbo-movie-roslyn.html
Ooo! Thanks for sharing that! I love reading articles like that on movies/shows based on real life. I need to lookup if that sky walk was ever built! Ha.
Those cookies look delicious! And I love taking a late morning nap. There is something so wonderfully indulgent about it!
No lowlights from this weekend? Hooray!
Yes! And I don’t feel as bad about the nap since I was up from 5-7. Ha!
I was going to mention AA texting me Sunday night about my return flight home but decided not to since I already whined about that before. Hee hee. (I put the lowlights in so I didn’t only post a highlight reel, but there aren’t many when I am living my best life with these lazy weekends.)
Ooh, what did you think of “Bad Education”? I haven’t watched it yet but was intrigued by the cast. (Maybe you posted about this and I missed it, sorry!)
I like your weekend highlights! It feels authentic that you’re recording all these special moments but don’t need to comment and editorialize about all of them. It also is fun to see a glimpse into your weekends!
I didn’t post more about it! We liked it and thought it was well done! Let me know if you watch it!
Thank you! One year I did a much longer post getting more in to the details and I feel like this glimpse is much easier and has the same effect!
