I mistakenly ordered bread when we did not need a loaf, so we’ve been eating quite a few sandwiches lately! Steven always cuts his sandwich in half, either diagonally or vertically depending on the type of sandwich. I NEVER want mine cut in half.

The internets says most chefs prefer the diagonal cut because there is less of a risk of losing ingredients, it makes it appear to have less crust, it’s visually appealing (although vertical cut can be even more visually appealing for the ingredients), and it can help with eating a more challenging, crusty bread. I have also heard if you have a beard, it’s easier to eat a sandwich that’s cut (and the same goes for a burger).

But I just never want mine cut! I like holding a big ole sandwich in my hand and making a huge mess on my face and hands trying to eat it. And most often, I feel like I lose more ingredients if it’s cut.

So tell, me, do you prefer your sandwich cut, and how? Answer my poll below (for the cut you use the most often – I know it’s different per type of sandwich!).

Ha, I need to do another poll about my other sandwich opinion… that they’re depressing to have for dinner, but we’ll save that topic for another day!
