• We’ve mostly been cooking at home since the restaurants in Illinois closed for dine-in (take-out is allowed) on March 17th, but we got El Famous to go on Monday, and it totally hit the spot. I’d been craving Mexican food, and my body was all sorts of confused why it hadn’t had any, since we’re usually at El Famous twice a month (or more).

  • One of the items on my personal COVID-19 related thoughts list (which I will post at some point) is how grateful I am for our home gym. I miss talking to my students when I do strength workouts, but I can lift a lot heavier at home, and it feels GOOD. (I am so sore, ha!)

  • I’ve been handling anxiety well lately (except when it comes to grocery shopping), and feel content at home, but I finally had a breaking point yesterday where I couldn’t deal with my (internal) anger at work anymore. I took two hours of leave to do a short run, take a hot bath, then nap, and I finally felt better. I hope I handle things more calmly today.
  • Did you see Aliphine’s article in Women’s Running (pdf here) about her reaction to the Olympics being postponed? I feel sad she has to skip seeing her family in Kenya again, and that they were planning on starting a family after the games and now have to wait.
  • We took a break from The Wire and are watching Homeland. The Wire was too much work for me to follow, and now’s not a good time for that. With our Illinois stay-at-home order extended until April 30th, maybe we’ll finish Homeland this month?! <— you gotta dream big!
