This seems hookey, but it’s an actual list I made yesterday in my notebook. Feel free to tell me what you’re grateful for right now, if you want!
Things I’m feeling grateful for right meow:
- The “start” of spring yesterday (it is now the time of year where it’s okay to complain about snow)
- That Steven and I both have work from home jobs
- All the digital content out there – books, movies/TV, podcasts, etc.
- Technology that allows me to keep in touch with friends and family
- The cats
- The parks and trails in my county remaining open
- Being silly with Steven
- That Steven loves to cook
- Our home and that we are able to stay home
- That I had a backup NYC headband! I dropped it during the Atlanta half and it was too crowded to pick it up and I was sad to “lose” it. I found another in my stash! (And related: that we were able to go to Atlanta when we did!)
I was just thinking about making a gratitude post on FB!! Love this list. I am grateful for many of the same things, to work from home, to be in a home that is spacious and comfortable, for my kiddos and gato. I’m also grateful to know that right now all of my family and loved ones are safe and healthy.
Awesome! I am look forward to seeing your list! <3
Yeah, I feel so grateful for the space and land we have right now! And yes, grateful to know people are healthy so far!
The cats are so adorable in that photo! And I’m definitely thankful for technology since it allows us to work from home and to have a lot of entertainment without leaving the house.
Thank you! They’ve really been bringing their A game lately with cuddling!
Yes! We are so lucky! And all these studios putting content out for us to buy is nice too, since we can’t go to theaters!
I think this is a very helpful thing to do in this wacko time. I’m thankful for:
– The ability to fully work from home, and the empowerment from my boss to start WFH before the company mandated it (which was very helpful for my anxiety)
– That our apartment is conducive to setting up a temporary home office, giving me a dedicated place to work
– The Shedd’s Twitter feed, particularly its penguin content in the past couple of days.
– Disney expediting releases of some of its newer movies (Frozen 2! Onward!) onto Disney+ so I can watch them from home
– That everyone in my family has thus far maintained their health
– That running outside isn’t prohibited during shelter-in-place
– FitnessBlender, for the days I don’t run
– That all of this happened in a time where video conferencing is easy and accessible, both for work and personal use
That is so great your boss was accommodating from the get go. I know other people who started WAH earlier than mandated too, for the same reasons <3
The Shedd is killing it! Did you see the funny tweet about Sue coming over to visit but Sue being too salty about some past beef? LOLOLOL
I was so surprised to see Onward on there! (well, hear about it, I don't have Disney+) That is so cool they put it out!
I am glad everyone in your fam is healthy! <3
My coworker just lost his wife to cancer last week, so i feel extremely lucky I get to spend so much time with my spouse the next few weeks. It certainly puts life into perspective.
Thank you for this post!
Wow, yeah it does. I am so sorry for your coworker. I hope he’s still able to find comfort during this time π
You are welcome <3
This is such a good thing to do when things seem so horrible all around us. I love that picture of your kitties; it’s so sweet when animals cuddle.
I, too, am extremely grateful for technology. Movies are helping to keep me distracted!
It’s definitely helping me!!! Thanks. They’ve been so cute lately (except when we are trying to sleep!).
Right?! What are you watching?
Stay tuned – as I’m currently grasping for topics, my movie list will soon be a blog post. π
Awesome! π
I’m grateful that we stay in touch! I look forward to playing 3/5-second rule over video chat, haha.
(And I’m thankful you and Steven can WFH, and that FakeMeats exists!)
Me too! I think it’s going to be even harder on video chat!
Gosh, yeah. I am really grateful he sells shelf stable food right now!
What a lovely list! I, too, am grateful that I am able to work from home! I’m also grateful to enjoy being home alone (I know this is really hard for a lot of people!), for my cats, to still have a job (my company laid off 10% of our workforce last week), for books and Hulu and Netflix and podcasts, for the Internet and communities where we can all talk about how we’re impacted by this pandemic, and for sunshine and being able to go outdoors when I want to. I had this funny realization today as I drove through fog this morning about how the weather is still showing up like it always does. Hot afternoons, foggy mornings, etc… while everything in our world feels upside down, at least the weather gives us a bit of “normalcy.”
I have been thinking that about the weather too! Two Fridays ago I got all these cancellation emails and texts and it was making me feel down… but the sun was still up! LOL. The world is still turning. (Ha, I say all that now, and I think we got 2″ of snow last night, but that is totally normal for this time of year.)
That is scary about work letting go of 10% of the people!!! π I hope things calm down there π
