A few highlights from the weekend!
Friday
- A successful shopping trip. I had to pick up a prescription and decided to get some other things too, and the store had everything I wanted! I was so relieved (as I mentioned, I am an anxious shopper already). I thanked every employee I talked to, and it was nice to see other people, from six+ feet away.
- A Zoom date with Anne and Xaarlin. We have an ongoing Instagram convo, but it was so fun to see them “in person”!
- Ending a phone call with Mom with “remember when?” stories from their trip to Italy in 2006 to visit me. We were laughing so hard at some of the memories. I wish 21-year-old Kim had written more details about her family and Steven visiting her in Italy. 35-year-old Kim got off that call and wrote all those memories down, and plans to write more (probably here, down the road).
Saturday
- Reading in bed, then eating a yummy breakfast with Steven.
- Apollo’s antics (there will be a post later this week with more details!).
- A strength workout that made me feel strong.
- Seeing (and talking to!) a local runner on my run.
- Starting a new show (Homeland) with Steven.
- Reading a lot in the afternoon.
- Eating a delicious homemade dinner and continuing our Batman trilogy. Poll time! Tell me below which movie trilogy you’d be most likely to binge watch.

Sunday
- Having a strong long run despite the crap weather.
- A Zoom date with Efit friends! I miss them!
- Reading by the fireplace/having a chill day.
Sounds like a good weekend overall! We’ve been able to find most of the groceries we’ve needed but flour is still elusive. Haven’t found any of that yet.
I’ve heard it’s been hard to find baking supplies π I hope you find some soon!
I would choose Pitch Perfect. LOL. Such a great trilogy…. bahaha
Oh yes! Good choice! I can’t believe I didn’t think of that one!
Yay, I’m glad we got to chat on Friday! π
It’s kind of fun to hear memories like that from your parents too. There’s a lot that my parents remember that I don’t, and vice versa!
I feel like being able to get all your groceries in one trip is such a victory these days LOL
Me too! Thanks so much for setting it up! <3
It was! I really want to ask the whole group what they all remember.
Ha, isn't it? I went to Aldi and Target and found everything. I am trying to stay home as much as possible but it seems like I need to get out once a week to get produce.
Of course I would vote for the Avengers even though I know it’s not a trilogy, LOL. I have ordered TP along with my curbside grocery order; set the pickup time for the earliest they offer, 8:30 (on Thursday, the earliest I could get the early time and yes I did this on Saturday). Hoping that I will get lucky and get most things on my list, TP included.
I have a separate list I made of long movie series (like Star Trek!) so Avengers definitely belongs on there!
Ooo, I hope you get everything this Thursday as well! Fingers crossed! (Did you order ice cream?!)
Haha yes – two flavors, hoping I get at least one of them.
Good! I hope you get BOTH!
Weird to me that you didn’t list the High School Musical trilogy as an option on your poll??????? Hahaha π That was the first trilogy I thought of! Probably because I’ve been rewatching them lately (though not bingeing them – we watched HSM on New Year’s Eve and HSM2 on Friday…and by “we” I mean “me, mostly” haha). Such classics! Disney+ is basically the best thing that ever happened to me, ha.
I only listed ones I’ve seen! I have not seen any of those yet! One of my fave podcasts does a “Cinema Sidepiece” where they review old movies and they recently did the first one – I need to listen to it! LOL, Joe isn’t watching with you?!
I guess that’s a good reason to not put it on the list, haha π I would be very curious to think what you think of it if you watch it. I really enjoy the movies now, but I think my enjoyment is 99.9996% nostalgia fueled, and .0004% “it’s a good movie, so I like it” fueled. Haha. I don’t think they’re *bad* movies, but I also don’t know that they’re, you know, cinematic masterpieces. Hahaha.
AND THAT’S THE INTENTION!!!!!! He’s never seen them, which I think is a TRAVESTY and why I insisted on this in the first place (because apparently some people didn’t watch almost exclusively the Disney Channel until they day they left for college. More things I can’t comprehend π ), but interest thus far has been limited. To be fair, he sat through the whole first movie. He missed most of the second one because his brother called, which, fine. I SUPPOSE it’s not fair to dock engagement points for talking to family during the movie π
I bet if I was in the right mood and with someone who really loved it, I would too! I will let you know if I ever watch them!
Sigh. If I were you, my BiL would be on my S list for that interruption. You are being too kind. HE NEEDS TO WATCH THEM π
Star Wars – the original trilogy from way back when! I still remember going to see the very first one in our local movie theater in Geneva, Illinois…
YES!!! Good choice! Which movie is your favorite?
The very first one.
I had good luck at the grocery store when I went on Sunday morning! I’m hoping that the stores will be less apocalyptic soon when the fervor dies down a little. Fingers crossed!
What would we do without all this technology to connect to people and video chat? Last night, I had virtual book club with my friends and it was SO greatly needed!
I am so glad to hear that! I hope that too!
OMG, it would suck! I am thinking back to when I lived in Rome and Skype was just becoming a thing but I had to go to internet cafes and like… people go there to do nasty stuff. Ahh, living through that makes me grateful for how connected we are now. Ha.
Tell me more about book club! I did a virtual one last week and have one coming up – do you guys do questions or is it a free for all?
I said LOTR, but Harrison says “The Matrix” or “Star Wars (original)”. I think I’ll also throw in “Pitch Perfect.”
I’ll be honest though, I’m most likely to rewatch the entire Harry Potter series, even the bad ones.
Christina suggested Pitch Perfect too and that is such a good one! I have thought of a few more since I posted this… but now I can’t remember them. Oops.
I still need to watch HP 2 and 3!!!
