A few highlights from the weekend!
Friday
- Taking a long nap! I work an hour extra each day to get every other Friday off, and this was my Friday off and I needed that nap. The cats had been waking me up earlier and earlier each day this week and I was exhausted.
- Doing my long run in decent weather.
- Getting my nails done and catching up with Lorena! I treat myself to a manicure every 2-3 weeks and really enjoy my conversations with my nail technician, Lorena.
- Celebrating Troy’s birthday at El Famous! We had plans to go out of town to celebrate, but a winter storm thwarted those. But hey, El Famous is even better, right?!
Saturday
- Being lazy all morning and finishing a book. The ending of Such a Fun Age was drama-filled and had me giggling out loud at how things turned out.
- Selecting the finish for our garage floor. We’re paying someone to seal and paint our garage floor today!
- Finding my favorite Valentine’s Day candy at Menards!
- Watchingย Peanut Butter Falcon. What a heartwarming film.
Sunday
- Wearing my new overalls. I asked for them for Christmas to keep me warm when I do work outside in the winter and they did their job!
- Remembering we have attic storage in the new garage. We got everything out of the new garage on Sunday so contractors can work on the floor today. We started taking everything in to our house garage then remembered, oh yeah, we can store things in the attic while the floors are worked on! Duh!
Lowlights
- Wrapping holiday gifts. Ugh. Hate it.
- Realizing I was NOT done buying holiday gifts for my family and going out in the storm to get a few things. Ugh. Hate shopping (but the stores were empty, and we drove slow and safe).
- Not knowing what to get people. Sigh. I don’t want to buy things people don’t want or need.
- Becoming irrationally mad when my Walgreens Photo order couldn’t be found. Ugh. I ordered some gifts on 12/31, and got an email they were ready to be picked up Saturday, went on Sunday, and after twenty minutes in the store, they couldn’t find them, despite their system saying they were delivered the day before. They offered to keep looking for them and reorder them if need be, but I wanted them for this weekend. I wish I could have just paid to ship them to our house (that wasn’t an option). And I wish it didn’t make me so mad. It’s not a big deal.
Your nails look great! I haven’t heard of that movie before, I’ll have to look into it. Sounds like a good weekend overall ๐
Thanks! I was going to get a solid color but I keep going back to glitter!
It’s really well done. Let me know if you watch it!
WTFFFFFF Walgreens! This was your one shot! You blew it!!!!1!!!111!
OMG I am laughing at your comment BECAUSE YOU ARE EXACTLY RIGHT! THEY DID BLOW THEIR ONE SHOT!
They called me earlier that they found them. Guess what, I won’t be in that area again until next week. Sigh. I may go this week, and I swear if they lost them again…
Also, I too loved Peanut Butter Falcon. Shia Labeouf gives me heart eyes again.
He was great in this!
I loved that movie – actually took myself to see it in the theater since Jeff wasn’t interested in seeing it. Glad I did. ๐
I hate it when stores screw you over – there aren’t that many places to put photos in a Walgreens, where did they go? Sheesh.
Jeff missed out! ๐
That’s what I am wondering. Someone called me yesterday and said they found them. I asked if they’d still be there the next time I try to pick them up. It was a waste of time to drive there and stand around for 20 minutes before. I don’t want to do that again.
Your lowlights are exactly what I like the least about the holidays (well, except for the Walgreens one. I don’t remember the last time I got photo prints, so that hasn’t happened to me.). I HATE wrapping presents. I HATE trying to come up with gift ideas. I’m not good at either one of those things, and they cause me so much stress. Blech.
Your overalls remind me of the snow pants I had as a kid. I’d have a hard time putting those on and not wanting to go sledding in them! Haha. They do look like they’d keep you nice and toasty!
Yep yep yep! Those things just SUUUUUUCK the joy out of the holidays ๐ I get so upset wrapping gifts that they just start looking crappier and crappier. UGH UGH UGH.
Ha! I was thinking they’d be nice for snow play! Remember how snow would go up the pants and down the overalls? LOL
Ooh, I’m curious about your review of Such a Fun Age. Drama-filled in a good way or a bad way??
Oh gosh, your holiday shopping reminds me how stressed out I was in December about finding the perfect gifts. I don’t want to go through that again. I’m going to brainstorm a better way to get through the holidays this year.
I would say a good way! Like, omg I have to finish this NOW to see what happens!
Tell me what you figure out! I really think it’s “give me a list” or we aren’t exchanging gifts. LOL. That sounds horrible!
