Happy New Year! I didn’t make my “excited” list in December because I was feeling pretty blah about the month and its obligations. January looks much more promising, with the potential for l-a-z-y time! Cross your fingers for me. Ha.
(I do not want to be a competing participant of busy culture. I need down time to recharge. Sometimes people comment on how busy I am. It’s not on purpose and I am not trying to come off that way. My dream right now is to spend a day reading a book and taking a nap.)
Anyway! Here is what I am looking forward to in January!
- Putting holiday decorations away (less the act of putting them away, and more having the space back in the living room)
- Celebrating Troy’s birthday
- Seeing my family for a late Christmas
- Seeing my snister’s family’s new home near our hometown!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! They are moving next week!
- Celebrating my snister’s sons’ birthdays
- Working on my 2020 To Dos
- Training for the Atlanta half marathon
- Eating healthier than December (that should not be hard, ha!)
- Seeing Little Women?
- Quiet time! Reading! Naps! Baths!
- Bringing back weekend blog recaps… even if I do nada!
What’s on your list?
I want to see Little Women too!
Me too!!!
Happy 2020! Glad that you’ll have more down time this month.
We have several January (or maybe even February) “holiday” gatherings. This is the first time that’s happened, and it made Christmas and New Year’s more relaxed. However, I’ll be happy when we can finally put everything away – our house is feeling a bit disorganized!
You mentioned blogging – I feel like I should shake off those 2019 blues (SO last year!) and get back on the blogging front. We shall see! 🙂
Hope it’s a good month!
Happy 2020 to you too!
Oh wow! And these celebrations are at your place? I like extending the celebrations, but it would make me nuts keeping all the up in my house! Ha!
Yes, blog if it makes you feel good and you miss it!
Thanks, hope you have a good month too 🙂
Nice list! I’m excited about seeing Little Women too. It was one of my favorite books when I was younger.
I should read it! I should make a point to read a book that is not from the last ten years, ha!
Haha, we took down our Christmas decorations yesterday and said the same thing – it felt nice to have the living room back! I walked in there this morning and was so surprised by how open it felt. It’s crazy how quickly you get used to having a big ol’ tree in your living space, even when the time between Thanksgiving and Christmas is about as short as it can be!
We totally get used to it, then bask in HOW. MUCH. SPACE. WE. HAVE. after! Ha! I took the ornaments off ours but Steven has to take the lights down then we have to get it to the preserve for it to be turned in to trail or whatever they’ll use it for there. I wish we had already done all that!
Ooh, I hope you see Little Women! I saw it a week ago and it was EXCELLENT. I’m not a huge fan of the book (I know… blasphemy) but I loved the movie.
Also – YES YES YES to not participating in busy culture. SAME. I do not function well when my life is busy and I’m never going to apologize for needing quiet time and lots of space in my schedule.
I saw it yesterday and also thought it was excellent! Do you like the one from the 90s as well? What don’t you like about the book?
Yep, same! When I talk about being busy, it’s not to brag – it’s to say I am struggling because I am not getting that quiet time. I wonder if this trend will die out (competing about how busy one is). I hope so.
