- One of my favorite podcasts, The Popcast, asked for listener holiday card submissions for them to dump on (their show format is being snarky about pop culture and life). I sent ours, thinking there was NO WAY they would dump on it because it’s so normal, but it was the first one they dumped on (1:34 in video)!!!! Knox said “Thoughts and prayers for the *****s because they’re Royals fans and the Royals ugh, that’s a tough hang. You have three cats too many. We know that.” Ha ha ha ha. Seeing that made me laugh so hard. I feel honored they chose us to make fun of!!!
- Things that cause pain since I fell last week: getting dressed and undressed (especially shoes and pants), trying to move in bed, picking up a cat, wrapping presents, standing for too long, and SNEEZING. Sneezing causes the most pain. I usually sneeze in multiples without a ton of warning but it’s like my body knows how much that hurts and I’ve had single sneezes I’ve been able to thwart, thankfully. It’s concerning I can’t lift more than 8 pounds without pain, but I’m getting better each day and I bet that will soon too. Teaching class tomorrow morning will be interesting…
- We’ve been trying to watch Outlander… is this show just a back and forth of Claire or Jamie getting captured and one of them rescuing the other? Or does that change in season 2? We watched the first season and episode one of season 2, but, meh. Great acting and sets and all that but it’s not holding my interest.
- Usually when what we’re watching doesn’t hold my interest I play on my phone, but I started doing puzzles instead. And it’s like I get to do them twice, because the cats take a little bit of them apart each night.
- Puzzle question – are you better at matching by the pattern on the piece or the shape of the piece? I go by pattern so when I have a puzzle that’s a huge area of the same color, I call in reinforcements (Steven).

That’s so cool that you got “dumped on” on your fave podcast! I love the “three cats is three cats too many.” HEY NOW. Hahaha.
Ugh, I would love to do a puzzle but I can’t trust my cats around one. Tell me your secrets!
Also, your running injury just sucks! I hope it heals soon and that teaching tomorrow isn’t too bad!
I thought so too! It just made my day! And I was totally LOLing at three cats too many. Cats are like bikes, you always need n + 1 (n is how many you have now). Hee hee.
The secret is to be chill and laugh if they destroy it. Ha. They do make these tubes you can roll them up in as finish working on it for the day! I have one but haven’t been using it.
Thanks, I hope so too! How is your ankle?!
OMG this was too funny! I’d have loved to sent in one of our old Christmas cards, snarky humor is my jam.
If you like snarky humor and some pop culture you would like their podcast! π http://knoxandjamie.com/
Congrats on being mocked by your favorite podcast! That sounds sarcastic, but I promise it’s not! Even if you sent it in to be dumped on, I do think it’s a very nice card π
I am neither a shape nor color person when it comes to puzzles, because I’m not a puzzle person at all. Haha. I never liked doing them, even when I was a kid and was trying to do, like, 16 piece puzzles. I always found them so frustrating! Though I don’t particularly like puzzles of any kind (jigsaw, crossword (aside from the NY Times Mini Crossword – that one I can handle, haha)), so I think I’m just not a puzzle person.
Thanks! π And thanks for saying our card is nice π
It doesn’t sound like you are a puzzle person! Do you like Sudoku type puzzles? I like doing the ones with a lot going on. I don’t like the ones that have weird shaped pieces and are all one color just to be annoying.Β
I guess it is a real honor to get your card picked by your favorite podcast, even if it is to be made fun of, LOL! You were brave to send it in! I wonder how many they got?
It is! It seems like they got a lot, and they did another request for cards and more people said they were going to send them in. Ha.
