- Khali is doing such a good job with all the visitors we’ve had to help with garage construction. She no longer hides under the bed (she sleeps on it), and will come down for treats, and has even started taking treats out of people’s hands!
- Oh my gosh, we laughed so hard last night when we went upstairs and saw the cats lying like this. Apollo looks like he got stuck with the middle seat with his arms up in the air like that!
- We saw Ford v Ferarri this week and really liked it! Who else has seen it?
- Gah, I am working with a new external partner at work and they keep replying to each email with a new subject, so the emails are not threaded anymore. WHY ARE YOU DOING THIS. YOU ARE CLUTTERING MY INBOX AND I CAN’T FIND ANYTHING. Grrr.
- Another work rant, while I’m here, that I’ve complained about before. WHY WHY WHY do people just assume you can make meetings, and not ASK about your schedule? Then tell a client you will be there? When you have other meetings scheduled then? It’s so odd to me. JUST. ASK. ME.
- Christina and I were comparing Starbucks saved giftcards after I gave her the holiday cat one last week and she pointed out I have a bit of digital hoarding going on with mine… guilty!

Apollo – LOL!
At least digital hoarding doesn’t create IRL clutter, right? 😉
Yes! I am all about the digital hoarding over irl hoarding 😉
Boy, that email thing would drive me up. a. wall. Keep things in the thread, people! It’s only okay to start a new thread when you’re starting a totally new, unrelated topic! Also, it seems like so much work to come up with a new subject every time! Whhhhhyyyyyyyyyyy????
RIGHT?! WHYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY. Today they responded to an email from yesterday, same subject line, but added today’s date to the end, so it started a new chain. It’s gonna make it impossible to find things in the future! GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR.
Do you have a calendar that everyone can see? (For my team/company, we typically just find a slot on someone’s calendar and then say “Hey, I put some time on your calendar to discuss ___. Feel free to change it to a better time if you need to.”) I’m guessing that’s not the case for your workplace. It’s super strange that they assume you can make it though!
Yes, I do, for internal people. And it’s open so people can see what the appts are. This was an external person who just assumed (then told me I accepted the invite – ha, I said no, that I had conflicts on the invite. wth).
For internal, that is how I do things – look at someone’s calendar. I usually say “I am making an appt, is your calendar up to date?” Some people are so bad about it, when it’s such a useful way to schedule meetings!
Awww Khali! Such a brave little girl. Love it! I feel that way with Lila because she used to be SO skittish and now even lets my mom pet her!
That work scheduling thing would annoy me so much! You can’t set up a meeting without ASKING about the other person’s schedule! That’s just, like, illogical. Ugh. How annoying!
That is awesome that Lila is making progress with your mom! Does your mom just love your kitties?!
It happens so much with scheduling. I think the most annoying part is what it implies – that they assume you are free whenever for their stuff. (Really, it just shows they are bad at planning, but sometimes it makes me feel like they think my time isn’t valuable). I am so busy right now, that you really have to look at my calendar to schedule something with me!
I do the same with my Starbucks gift cards! Mine used to say who they were from but Starbucks seems to have made that disappear. I still think they are so fun.
Aww! I wish they would leave that on there! Because I am looking at them like “who sent this one?” Ha.
