- Dad has been here long enough that Khali has accepted him as family* and has been hanging out around him and even let him pet her without trembling! The huge bag of catnip Dad produced from his truck may have something to do with this. Ha.
Dad is a licensed nip dealer
- Driving the skid loader is a BLAST and so much better than the snow blower. I understand why Steven wants one now.
- AHHHHH! Starbucks is KILLING IT with the cat themed holiday giftcard this year. It’s so cute! I got one for my snis, left the store, then went back to get one for myself.
- I haven’t made reading a priority lately, and I felt bad having all these hard copies from the library waiting to be read, so I returned all but the top three. Sigh. Maybe someday we will meet again.
- It’s been a year since I moved to this new domain. Surprisingly, it wasn’t until the last few months that I started frequently getting requests (at this domain, I still got them all the time for ilaxSTUDIO) to post random infographics and advertisements. That would be a no. If I post something, it’s because I want to, not because someone asked me to (or paid me too). Somewhat related, spam comments have really picked up in the last month or so, too.
*or whatever you call your caretaker when you are their ward
Lol the caption under the picture of your dad giving catnip to the kitties *laughing crying emoji*
I love that you do to/from Snis on your gift cards! That’s how my sister and I address our gifts to each other as well (except instead of Snis, we say “PIC” (Partner In Crime) – To: PIC From: PIC).
I can’t believe you’ve been on this domain for a whole year! It doesn’t feel like that much time at all. I always think it’s funny when people ask me to post their stuff on my blog. First of all, if you actually followed my blog like you claim you do, you’d know I don’t just blindly post random content submitted to me, and second of all, how could my blog possibly be worth your time?! I do no marketing, I’m obviously not making any money of this, I don’t even have Instagram for goodness sake! If you want to reach a broad audience, I am not the right person to solict, haha.
Hee hee! He is totally her dealer now!
Aww, I love that you do that, with PIC!!! It’s so fun to have a nicknames for your sister.
The year flew by! It’s so funny, I think I am going to do these things to improve my blog (like move to a new host) and I always think, eh, I will do it later, and NEVER do, then time flies.
Ha, those are the same reactions I have. They always claim to read your blog, and pick some recent thing* to comment on like they do, but their pitch is always so off. And yes, if you read, you will see I don’t post random content. I mean, my content is random. Other people’s random content. Ha!
And right, are they just asking everyone, and don’t care about audience size?
*my absolute fave is people who pull up posts that are 5-8 years old and ask me to edit links to go to their website. Um, no.
Ah, good ole infographics emails. SIGH. So annoying. I get a lot of people emailing me to tell me how they can improve the SEO on my “website.” First of all, it’s a blog. I don’t care about SEO. Second of all, the emails are always so poorly written and contain factual errors that I *know* are wrong because I work in SEO. I’ve responded to them before with snarky responses but now I just delete them. Sigh.
How long did it take for Khali to let you hold her? Eloise loves being held but Lila will bring out her claws if I try. Sometimes, she looks so cuddly, though, and I just want to snuggle her! LET ME LOVE YOU, CAT. (I feel like I need a disclaimer that I don’t force her. If she gets tense when I try to pick her up, I won’t. I just… want to. Lol.)
Oh wow! That is pretty funny that they think that are selling you on SEO and they’ve got it wrong! I usually don’t respond anymore either, unless they continually bug me. I actually have a post here I wrote about how I don’t post that stuff – I should send that.
Hmm. Well, first thing, I definitely can only pick Khali up when she is in the mood – meaning hungry or she was sleeping. I think it took several months after she moved in. At first, she wouldn’t even hang out with us in the same room. It took her at least a year to get comfortable. So yeah, I hope Lila comes around. I wonder if she is like Starbuck – we can only hold her a certain way, and for about ten seconds, then she wants down. I wish all cats were snuggle bugs!
*or whatever you call your caretaker when you are their ward
I believe the phrase you’re looking for is “human servant”…I’m pretty sure this is what my feline masters call me, anyway 😉
Yes! That’s it! Ha!
OK Khali may be warming up to your dad, but begrudgingly so if her flat ears are any indication. Like, I NEED MY FIX BUT I’D CUT YOU IF IT WOULDN’T HURT MY CHANCES OF GETTING MORE, LOL.
She’s gotta remind him that she is really in charge, all the time!!!!
