- I feel so far behind with blogging! I need to blog about Mom and Dad’s anniversary party – it was a success! Sneak peek:
Me driving two nephews around in the Jeep I’ll inherit from my parents
- I need to blog about the rest of our trip and the family photos we took. They turned out great! Sneak peek:
Steven and Christina’s husband, Will
- I need to blog about the garage too! Eek! The reason I’m not blogging much this week is because my Dad came out here Monday (he arrived at our house a few hours after we got home!) and we’ve been working on the garage each day. Sneak peek:
- Hopefully I will have time to blog this weekend!
- In other news, I have this recurring dream about being in college and completely forgetting to go to my architectural studio class and do any sort of project for the semester. In my dream, it’s always the end of the semester and I have no idea what to present. Last night, I made progress in my dream – I decided my project was going to be a house in Italy that had a car showroom in it. Maybe I’ll be working on it in the next dream and finally finish it and quit dreaming about that. Ha.
- Today marks nine years since my first marathon – the Chicago Marathon on 10/10/10. What a cluster. I had three stress fractures that summer and couldn’t train much, and it got in to the high 80s during the race. I finished the damn thing though! And have never run Chicago again (I wish it was a race you could wait and sign up for once you saw the weather would be good!). I’ve learned SO MUCH since I ran that, both in regards to running, and life, in general.
I’m enjoying reading your old marathon race recaps, between the one you referenced for NYC a few weeks ago and now your Chicago one! Good thing I already do Chicago so it doesn’t make me wish I could run that race like the NYC one did 😛 Three stress fractures! I can’t believe you actually made it to the marathon at all – that’s a lot to deal with! Yikes! I also CANNOT believe they just had open corrals in 2010 O.O whut. It’s crazy to me that it went from open corrals in 2010 to having an emergency lottery the first year I ran it in 2013 because there were so many people registering. I mean, most races I run these days have corrals of some sort, even if they’re not enforced as strictly as the ones at Chicago. A lot has changed in nine years!
Aww, thanks! I am glad you enjoyed them! I also have an old Madison one, too (from 2011 – I ran Madison, MKE, and NYC that year).
Yeah, the three stress fractures s-u-c-k-e-d but I had an okay-ish doctor that helped me get back on track with running, then I did the best I could!
I was surprised how fast Chicago changed too, and glad I got in when I did. I remember being surprised when they went to lottery, but with so many people wanting to do it, I suppose it makes sense! I bet it would feel really different for me to run it now, even though nine years wasn’t too long ago.
Ha, I love the sneak peek picture of Steven and Will!
Is this a recurring dream that you have over a few years or many times recently? I wonder if the garage work is causing you to think about buildings more.
We did a whole series of just the two of them! That one really made us laugh!
I’ve had it for a few years but definitely more recently. That could be why!
Wow! I loved reading your race report and how exciting it was for you to do your first marathon!
Aww, thank you! It was so exciting! That medal still means a lot to me 🙂
I get the feeling behind on blogging, believe me. You’ll get it all written up – I love that picture of your parents, newlyweds and uh, oldyweds? LOL that’s about Jeff and I – we hit 35 years in June.
Reading your Chicago marathon recap was so fun! And beardless Steven! I’m so impressed you finished that race – heat on asphalt is just brutal for runners.
Do you have a whole list of things you want to write, too?! I hope you are recovering on schedule 🙂 <3
Thanks! It was such a good idea of my snister's to have that life size cutout! People really got a kick out of it.
OMG beardless Steven is 😮 He doesn't even look the same. And thanks. It was brutal! I really wanted redemption, immediately. (But waited 7 months)
