It’s been a while since I posted about the garage! There was no work done the week of September 23rd – our crew was at another site that week, and there were some rain days too.

The crew came back the week of September 30th, and on Monday they finished grading and installed half of the insulation. The insulation lessens the amount of heat escaping from the radiant heat tubes above it to the ground below it.

The crew came back on Thursday and finished installing the insulation, and laid down the entire wire grid. The wire grid prevents the concrete from breaking up as much, and it’s what we’ll tie the radiant heating tubes down to. The crew also put some gravel down in front of the garage.

On Monday, Steven built a box to house the radiant heating manifolds, and he installed it on Thursday.

And then we went out of town for the weekend and couldn’t work on the garage again until Tuesday this week. But my dad came Monday and worked with us Tuesday through today so we got A LOT done! Stay tuned for my next post!
