Notes:
- Oops, Monday’s (7/22) run somehow ended up taking longer than I thought it would (ha, cause of my slower summer pace) and I was worried I was going to be rushed to get to class to teach so I picked it up a bit at the end, then felt zapped at class!
- Ugh, I ran in the rain a few Tuesdays ago in my work shoes then left them in my locker to use Wednesday (7/24)… eight days later… and they were still wet. And smelled like cat pee. Disgusting. I did one last run in them then chucked them. I’d actually had them since April 2017, so they lasted a long time! But YUCK!
- Day 7 of RAGBRAI with Dad was a lot of fun and I can’t wait to write about it. I’ve really wanted to for a few days now and haven’t made the time. Sigh.
- I’m glad I got some runs (and a hike and walk!) in with Gina and Steve (and Luca and Steven) while we were on vacation. We had some neat runs – we stayed up high on a bluff in ran in to town twice, and drove to town once to run there. We also hiked in a super neat state park with a ton of caves, and did a walk down the bluff in to town. In my mind I would have run more while there, but I enjoyed sleeping in in the mornings.
- That’s my theme so far this month – sleep! I feel like I’ve needed it to recover from vacation, and, since we’re going to be later. I’m looking forward to getting back on our normal schedule and waking up a bit earlier.
- I saw three people I knew on the trail Sunday (8/4) and ended up running three miles with one of them! It was nice to chat for three miles of my ten-miler!
- Monthly recap! In July I ran 155.6 miles (25 runs). My coldest run was 58°F and my warmest was 91°F. I cycled 195.8 miles (5 indoor rides, 3 outdoor rides). I taught 6 strength classes, and 1 fitness boxing class. I did one event – RAGBRAI Day 7.
Sounds like you had a great week!
Except for the cat pee shoes 🙁
I could NOT believe how horrible they smelled!!!
Oh man, poor shoes! At least you got a long period of use out of them 🙂
Yeah! I used them for low mileage runs, so it seems my shoes last longer that way! I wonder if I should have low mileage run shoes and high mileage run shoes!
I’m excited to read about RAGBRAI and what that was like this year! It sounds like it was a good month of working out, especially with your vacation!
Thanks! I am excited to write about it, eventually!!!!
